Windows XP remains the second most popular OS in the world
Even though all eyes are now on the new Windows 8.1 Preview, Windows XP remains a very popular operating system, with fresh statistics indicating only a slight decline last month.
Despite Microsoft’s efforts to move users from XP, it remains the second most popular operating system in the world, with a market share of 37.17 percent, down from 37.74 percent a month before.
As you probably heard by now, Windows XP will no longer receive updates and support as of April 8, 2014, so its users are now urged to make the move to a newer platform, be it Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Of course, the Softies hope that the arrival of Windows 8.1 would boost the demise of Windows XP, even though so many users have already expressed their intention to stick to XP beyond the April 8 deadline.
