There is a phrase business owners know well. The “cost of doing business” is something that every business owner has to deal with. There are
certain things that have to be done, in order to conduct business, and this cost has to be factored into the final price for your product or service. If this cost is not counted, the business owner will be unable to make a profit and will ultimately go out of business.
There is another cost in this country, one that I am afraid many people have discounted in their end calculations. The federal government was designed to be small. We all know it has grown far beyond its original purpose and design, into something the Founding Fathers would not recognize. There is a cost associated with big government and I can’t help but think many people either do not care, or can not see, this cost. I would contend the stalemate we see in Washington is part of the cost of big government.
