Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker gave his his “fireside chat” broadcasted live to the people of Wisconsin and to those in the blogosphere with the availability of this video. He warned Democrat state senators on that failing to pass his bill that ends collective bargaining agreements for public workers would have “dire consequences.”
Walker also warned in his speech that if the legislators don’t pass the bill, up to 1,500 public workers could lose their jobs by July and another 6,000 over the next two years.
The budget is not an attack on unions, as Walker explained, but it’s a necessary measure to balance the state’s projected $3.6 billion budget shortfall by 2014.
One thing about Governor Walker, he is demonstrating bold conservative leadership.
