Remember the Alamo!
The Daughters of The Republic of Texas Library is part of the Alamo complex in San Antonio, Texas. The 175th anniversary of the Battle of the Alamo is upon us. Brave Texas patriots fought bravely and gallantly from February 23, 1836 to March 6, 1836 for freedom, liberty and independence. The vicious Mexican dictator General Antonio López de Santa Anna was ultimately humiliated by General Sam Houston at the Battle of San Jacinto, on April 21, 1836. Shortly thereafter the Texas Declaration of Independence was adopted on March 2, 1836.
