"It's for the children." Honest!
The US threatened military retaliation against Bashar Assad after the Aug. 21 gas attack. When Congress balked, Obama embraced Russia’s plan for Syria to turn over its chemical arsenal. ‘I don’t think that [Russian President Vladimir] Putin has the same values that we do,’ the president said. But ‘we both have an interest in preventing chaos [and] terrorism.’
