Rep Silvestre Reyes: Amendment undermines ATF gun-trafficking ability to Mexico(TX)
Rep. Silvestre Reyes released the following statement: Congressman Silvestre Reyes (D-TX) voted against an amendment late tonight to H.R. 1, the Continuing Appropriations Act of 2011, that hinders the ability of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) to crack down on the trafficking of weapons into Mexico. The ATF has recently proposed a rule change that would require firearms dealers in southwest border states to report multiple sales of long guns, like semi-automatic assault rifles.
