Filing fails to shed light on how ex-congressman, wife will pay federal penalties
WASHINGTON — Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has filed his final House financial disclosure report more than six months late, a filing that sheds little light on how he will pay a $750,000 forfeiture for looting his campaign treasury.
Jackson, 48, is awaiting sentencing on Aug. 14. Federal prosecutors want him behind bars for four years.
His wife, Sandi Jackson, 49, a former Chicago alderman, will be sentenced the same day for a federal tax violation. The government has urged that she spend 18 months in prison.
