POLL: Obama's National High-Speed Rail Network Plan
Description: The Obama administration has proposed spending $53 billion on high-speed rail over the next six years. The money would be spent on construction of a national high-speed and intercity passenger rail network. President Obama has set a goal of giving 80% of Americans access to high-speed rail within 25 years. Republicans quickly dismissed the plan as many in the party are already itching to claw back some of the $10.5 billion in stimulus money that went to passenger-rail programs and high-speed rail grants.
