WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Susan B. Anthony List today condemned the Obama Administration for its decision to directly contract with family planning clinics in the state of New Hampshire. The move comes after New Hampshire's Executive Council voted in June to no longer contract with Planned Parenthood clinics in the state.
"President Obama has proven time and again that he will do whatever it takes to ensure that Planned Parenthood continues to receive taxpayer subsidies, even if that means going around a state's elected representatives," said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. "Obama is the most pro-abortion President in our country's history and his allegiance to Planned Parenthood is unwavering."
Prior to New Hampshire's Executive Council decision, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England had a $1.8 million contract with the state. In June, the council voted 3-2 to no longer continue that contract, citing Planned Parenthood's practice of providing abortions. As a result, Planned Parenthood lobbied the Council and other elected officials in the state for a re-vote that also proved unsuccessful.
