Benghazi terrorists, skating free

Jan. 12, 2013

Four months have now passed since the terrorist attack on the US diplomatic compound in Benghazi took the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. But for all the vows that the perpetrators would swiftly be brought to justice, no one so far has been.

Nor, it seems, is anyone likely to be.

So much for President Obama’s solemn promise: “Make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people.”

What’s happened instead?

Tunisia last week released the only person who’s been arrested as a possible suspect, citing “lack of evidence.”

Murdered by incompetence: Chris Stevens
Time magazine quotes a senior Libyan activist: “There is no Libyan investigation. There is not even a will to investigate.”

For understandable reasons: Benghazi’s chief investigator was kidnapped from his car, and the chief of police was murdered.

And North African countries reportedly are refusing to cooperate with the FBI.

Meanwhile, the drones and special-ops teams used to hunt down al Qaeda in Pakistan and Yemen are not being used.

It’s beyond shameful.

Stevens was the first US envoy killed in the line of duty since Jimmy Carter was president. But it seems the attack is being relegated to the dustbin of campaign history or dismissed as a GOP “obsession.”

Republicans say they won’t move ahead on Obama’s national-security nominations — especially CIA director-designate John Brennan — without more answers.

Good. Someone needs to be held responsible for this pathetic non-response.

Did You Know? Non-Liberal Minorities Aren't Authentic Minorities

Jan. 12, 2013

..and that "Clarence Thomas doesn't represent black Americans."

Summary: MSNBC's racism and bigotry knows no boundaries. To claim most blacks aren't upstanding, decent Christians like Clarence Thomas is nothing short of hatred against black Americans

Melissa Harris-Perry
Transcript: "The optics are one piece of it of it. But, I think we want to be careful, because no one wants to assume that any given physical body carries with it a set of political ideas, so for example, you know, Clarence Thomas sitting on the Supreme Court of the United States does not mean that Justice Thomas is representing, necessarily, the positions, the issues, even the Constitutional interpretation that is shared by the vast majority of civil rights organizations and by the vast majority of African-Americans."

"For example, had Congresswoman Bachmann ended up as the president of the United States, she might not have been representative of women's issues in the broadest sense, because so many women are, in fact on the side of reproductive rights and justice."

US porn film makers sue over LA's communist condom law

Jan. 12, 2013

AFP - US porn filmmakers sued Los Angeles County on Friday over a new law requiring adult movie actors to wear condoms on set, arguing that it is unconstitutional.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court by porn giant Vivid Entertainment, Califa Productions and actors Kayden Kross and Logan Pierce against so-called Measure B, voted into force in November.

They claim the porn film industry already regulates itself sufficiently to protect actors against AIDS/HIV and other diseases. It also violates the First Amendment right to free expression, they say.

"Overturning this law is something I feel very passionate about," said Steven Hirsch, founder of LA-based Vivid Entertainment. "I believe the industry's current testing system works well."

Since 2004 over 300,000 explicit scenes have been filmed with no transmission of the HIV/AIDS virus.

"Measure B will have vast unintended consequences which may undermine industry efforts to protect the health of our actors and actresses," said Hirsch, claiming it will drive production abroad where there is no protection.

California porn film makers were forced to suspend production temporarily in 2011 after an actor tested positive for HIV, the virus which causes AIDS, in the latest such disruption to the multi-billion-dollar industry.

The industry is primarily based in the San Fernando Valley north of LA.

Film LA Inc., which issues permits for film companies shooting in and around the West Coast city, says about five percent of the 45,500 permit days the agency issues per year are for pornographic film shoots.

SHOCKER!!! No Prosecution for NBC's Left Wing Pig David Gregory

Jan. 12, 2013

WASHINGTON, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Officials in Washington said it was "a very close decision" but NBC's David Gregory will not be charged with possessing a large capacity ammunition magazine.

Irvin Nathan, attorney general for the District of Columbia, notified NBC in a letter dated Friday Gregory was in violation of the law Dec. 23 when, during an interview on "Meet the Press," he displayed "a magazine capable of holding up to 30 rounds of ammunition."

During an interview with National Rifle Association Executive Director Wayne LaPierre -- one week after the massacre of 20 children and six staffers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. -- Gregory also held up an ammunition magazine capable of holding five to 10 rounds of ammunition.

Nathan said the larger of the two magazines meets the definition of a Washington law against possession of "any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm" or loaded.

"There is no doubt of the gravity of the illegal conduct in this matter, especially in a city and a nation that have been plagued by carnage from gun violence," he said.

Nathan said the Office of Attorney General would not bring charges against Gregory or any other NBC employee "despite the clarity of the violation of this important law, because under all of the circumstances here a prosecution would not promote public safety in the District of Columbia nor serve the best interests of the people of the district to whom this office owes its trust."

"NBC should be made aware that OAG's decision not to press charges in this matter was a very close decision and not one to which it came lightly or easily," he said.

Nathan cautioned NBC to "take meticulous care in the future to ensure that it is in full compliance with D.C. law" and said another violation "will be prosecuted to the full extent supported by the facts and the law."

War on the Constitutional Amendments I & II: Gun permit suspended after YouTube video

Jan. 12, 2013

NASHVILLE, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Tennessee has suspended the handgun carry permit of a firearms trainer who said he'd "be glad to fire the first shot" in a civil war over gun control.

James Yeager, chief executive officer of Tactical Response in Camden, Tenn., said in a video posted Wednesday, "Vice President Biden is asking the president to bypass Congress and use executive privilege -- executive order -- to ban assault rifles ... to impose stricter gun control.

"I'm telling you that if that happens it's going to spark a civil war and I'll be glad to fire the first shot," he said. "I'm not putting up with it. You shouldn't put up with it. And I need all you patriots to start thinking about what you're going to do. Load your dam mags, make sure your rifle is clean, pack a backpack with some food in it and get ready to fight."

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security said Friday it has suspended Yeager's handgun carry permit based on "material likelihood of risk of harm to the public," WTVF-TV, Nashville, reported.

"The number one priority for our department is to ensure the public's safety," Tennessee Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons said. "Mr. Yeager's comments were irresponsible, dangerous, and deserved our immediate attention."

The department said Yeager is not a Department of Safety and Homeland Security certified instructor, and Tactical Response also is not certified, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported.

Yeager, 42, can ask a court to review the department's decision to suspend his permit, the report said.

War on Christmas/Christianity Update

Jan. 12, 2013

SHEFFIELD, England, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Two young men charged with killing an organist who was beaten as he walked to a Christmas Eve mass in northern England appeared in court Friday.

A magistrate in Sheffield ordered Jonathan Bowling, 22, and Ashley Foster, 21, held on a charge of murder, the Daily Mirror reported. They are to appear in Crown Court Jan. 18.

Two other men have been arrested in connection with the killing of Alan Greaves, questioned and released on bail.

Greaves, 68, died three days after the attack. He was assaulted as he walked to St. Saviour's Church in High Green, a suburb of Sheffield.

Maureen Greaves, the organist's wife, sat in the back of the court during Friday's hearing.

"Justice will be done," she said as she left court with police officers.

New Jersey Democrats Plot Senate Runs

Jan. 12, 2013

Cory Booker prepares for U.S. Senate run

NEWARK, N.J., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker has set up a campaign committee but has not said yet whether he will run for the seat now held by U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg.

Booker -- a Democrat who has said he intends to serve the remainder of his second term as mayor of New Jersey's largest city -- filed documents Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission for "Cory Booker for Senate," The Hill reported.

Lautenberg, who turns 90 in 2014 and is the oldest current member of the Senate, has not said whether he will seek a sixth term.

Rep. Frank Pallone, D-N.J., may also be considering a Senate run, The Star-Ledger of Newark reported.

Booker is Newark's third black mayor. He grew up in a North Jersey suburb and moved to the city after attending Stanford, Yale and Oxford University.

In a recent Fairleigh Dickinson University poll, 42 percent of respondents said they would prefer Booker and only 20 percent backed Lautenberg -- who held the seat from 1982-2001 and then returned to the Senate after replacing incumbent Sen. Robert Torricelli as the Democratic nominee in the 2002 election.

Reuter's tries like hell to create pity for Indian gang rape suspect

Jan. 12, 2013

Delhi rape accused lived on margins of India's boom

(Reuters) - In a village in India's Uttar Pradesh state, a woman sits hunched on the ground in a green shawl, visibly weak and shivering in the January cold. She says she has not eaten for days, and neither have her five young children.

She has never heard of Manmohan Singh, India's prime minister, having never ventured further from her village than a nearby market town, and ekes out a living working in potato fields on other people's land.

Her eldest son left home when he was 11. He never returned, and the woman thought he was dead. The first news she got of him was when police from New Delhi turned up at her brick hut to say he had been arrested for the gang rape and death of a student, a crime whose brutality stunned India.

In an interview with Reuters, the mother of the juvenile, the youngest of six members of the gang accused of the attack, recalled the son who left home five or six years ago for the bright lights, and seemed stunned by the accusation against him.

"Today, the infamy he earned is eating me up," his mother said as villagers stood and stared. "I can't even sit with two other people in the village because of the shame that my son has brought to the family."

A 23-year-old physiotherapy student was beaten and raped on a moving bus in the Indian capital on December 16. She was left bleeding on a highway and died two weeks later from internal injuries.

The five men who have been charged with rape and murder are all expected to plead not guilty. One says police tortured him.

The sixth member of the gang, the woman's son, is being processed as a juvenile and has not been charged. He will be tried separately.

Police have said they are conducting bone tests to determine his age as they suspect he may be over 18 years old. Reuters is withholding his name for this story.

The trial of the five men is due to start within weeks.

"BLACK MAGIC"

It is from a life of rural penury that the youth sought to escape, one of about two million Indians who migrate to cities every year, chasing an economic boom that has propelled India for the past two decades but has trickled down slowly to its poor.

Conversations with relatives, neighbors and police show the extent to which the accused lived on the margins of the city's emerging prosperity, holding menial jobs and living in a slum.

Their lives stand in contrast with that of the victim.

She was also from a humble background but funded her studies by taking a job in one of the call centers that are a hallmark of modern India's economy and have helped build an aspirational new middle class.

According to his mother, the youth joined a group of other village boys travelling to New Delhi, found work in a roadside eatery and - for the first year - used to send 600 rupees ($11) a month back to his family.

After he stopped sending money, his mother never heard from him again. At first she thought he might have been forced into bonded labor. Later, she presumed he was dead. A couple of months before the rape, she consulted a Hindu holy man about her son, whom she remembered as a good boy.

"The holy man told me that someone has practiced some black magic on him, but that he would come back," she said.

Living on the breadline and with a husband who is mentally ill, the mother works in fields with her daughters to feed her family. Halfway through the conversation with Reuters, she fainted, apparently from hunger, and had to be carried to bed.

About half of her village are landless laborers, and about a quarter of all men migrate to cities in search of work, according to farmer Vijay Pal.

"SING-SONG VOICE"

The details of the boy's life after he left his village are patchy. Even his fellow accused did not know his real name and called him by an assumed name, a senior police officer told Reuters. Police described him as a "freelancer" at a Delhi bus station, cleaning buses and running errands for drivers.

"He was a helper on buses who would solicit customers by calling out to them in a sing-song tone," the officer said.

He was popular with the contractors who ran the bus services and frequently changed jobs.

It was during this time that he met Ram Singh, the main accused in the case, whom he had gone to meet on the day of the attack in the hope of getting back money that Singh had borrowed from him, police said.

The juvenile went to Singh's house to claim 8,000 rupees ($150) but Singh invited him to stay for food instead, according to a police report. After the attack, police say they found the juvenile's blood-stained clothes on Singh's roof.

In an interview with Reuters, the friend of the victim who had accompanied her on the bus, and who was also beaten, said the juvenile had beckoned the pair to board.

"There was a young boy who was standing at the door of the bus and calling passengers in," the friend said by telephone. "He had a light moustache, very sharp eyes and a very sweet demeanor. He was thin and was calling out to people saying ‘come sister, please sit'."

When they started assaulting the victim's friend, the juvenile "was one of the first to attack me", he said.

Singh and three of the other accused lived in a poor pocket in the otherwise largely middle-class Delhi neighborhood of RK Puram, whose wide streets and tree-lined boulevards contrast with the dark lanes, communal taps and open sewers where Singh lived.

Many of the people who live there are migrants, working as electricians, auto-rickshaw drivers, day laborers, bus drivers, mechanics and street vendors.

Singh was a bus driver, despite an accident in 2009 that fractured his right arm so badly that doctors had to insert a rod to support it. He appeared on a reality television show in a compensation dispute with a bus owner, who in turn accused Singh of "drunken, negligent and rash driving".

Singh's neighbors describe him as a heavy drinker with a temper. One young woman said he used to get embroiled in violent rows and a relative recalls a physical altercation with her husband.

"I WILL MAKE IT BIG"

India's rapid growth over the past two decades, kick started by a period of free-market economic reforms, accelerated the process of urbanization.

The world of the juvenile's mother is still one where carts drawn by horses and bullocks ply the lanes, and dung cakes are stacked in villages to be used as a fuel.

But in the cities, the old barriers of caste and gender are being eroded as India prospers. It is in this world that Vinay Sharma, another of the accused, wanted to make his mark, and aspired to the kind of life that the victim was striving for.

Passionate about boxing and body-building, Sharma earned $55 a month as a helper in a gym and wanted to enroll on a correspondence course, according to his mother and neighbors in the slum where he lived.

"He always used to say 'I will make it big in life'," said his mother, Champa Devi.

Like the juvenile and the victim, Sharma's family is originally from Uttar Pradesh, a state of some 200 million people where poverty is entrenched.

"When the police came around 4 or 4.30 in the evening, he was at home", his mother said.

"I ran after him when they were taking him away. They would not even tell me why. Even he kept insisting ‘Ma, go back home, nothing will happen to me. They are just taking me to ask some questions. I will be back soon.' But that was the last I saw of him."

Trust: Turkey's Erdogan demands Left Wing Extremist Hollande explain meeting with militants

Jan. 12, 2013

ISTANBUL | Sat Jan 12, 2013 5:32am EST
(Reuters) - Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan has called on French President Francois Hollande to explain why he had met Kurdish militants with links to the PKK - viewed as a terrorist group by Turkey, the EU and the United States - who were shot dead this week in Paris.

Hollande has said that one of the victims, three women with links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), was known to him.

The execution-style killings in central Paris on Thursday have overshadowed a new initiative by Erdogan's government to launch a peace process to end the PKK's 28-year-old insurgency against Turkey.

"France needs to shed light on this incident," Erdogan said in a speech to a businessmen's group on Saturday. "The French president needs to explain to the public in Turkey and the world why he met with members of a terrorist organization."

His comments were broadcast live by CNN Turk television.

Possible hand grenade investigated at San Dimas shopping center. Anti-shopping center advocates mum

Jan. 12, 2013

[Updated 8:34 p.m.: The Los Angeles County sheriff’s bomb squad removed the suspicious object without incident. The shopping center will again be opened up to the public.]

Several businesses at a shopping center in San Dimas were evacuated tonight as police investigate whether an explosive device was planted in the parking lot.

“We don’t know if it’s real or fake or a toy,” said L.A. County Sheriff's Sgt. Vicki Gregory. “We’re going to err on the side of caution and look into it.”

Deputies arrived at the retail center at 552 West Arrow Highway just after 7:30 p.m. after a caller reported seeing what looked like a hand grenade in the lot.

The arson and explosives unit was investigating the item.

People were evacuated from nearby restaurants, including a Denny’s and an Applebee’s. Guests at a Motel 6 were told to remain inside.

Hypocrite Jackie Chan calls US 'most corrupt' country in the world, while raking in millions from working there

Jan. 12, 2013

AFP - Hong Kong action hero Jackie Chan has once again provoked criticism, this time from an American blogger, after suggesting on Chinese television that the US is the "most corrupt" country in the world.

"When you talk about corruption -- the whole world, is there corruption in the United States? The most corrupt in the world!" the Rush Hour star, who has made headlines recently for his controversial views, told Phoenix TV last month.

Chan reaffirmed his view after the show's host questioned him -- "Of course! Where did the great breakdown come from? The world, the United States started it," Chan said, referring to the financial crisis and gesticulating as he spoke.

His comments were rebuked Thursday by Max Fisher, a foreign affairs blogger for the Washington Post, who called them "anti-American" rhetoric that was rooted in China's insecurity.

"To the degree that Chan's comments were anti-American, they likewise reflect a common Chinese view of the United States, one that is rooted not just in attitudes toward America but in China's proud but sometimes insecure view of itself," Fisher said.

Jackie Chan also said China is a relatively young country, where in the first half of its history it was "bullied by so many people", and that it only achieved "real success" in the past decade.

"Our country's leaders admit they are corrupted, etcetera. We are improving -- I can see our country is constantly improving and learning," he said, adding that everyone is making an issue out of China because it is "powerful" now.

Chan, who is known for his martial arts skills and daring stunt work, sparked criticism in Hong Kong, which was returned to China in 1997, after he reportedly told a Chinese magazine last December that protest in the city should be restricted.

In the same interview, he said that he was bullied by Hong Kong triads and had to hide in the United States. He also said he needed to carry a gun everyday to protect himself, leading to a police investigation.

Twins allowed to commit suicide

Jan. 12, 2013

BRUSSELS - Identical twins were allowed to take their lives together after their dwindling eyesight became an unbearable burden, a Belgian newspaper has reported.

The men died on Dec 14, Het Laatste Nieuws reported, in the first case in the world of twins using the legal right to euthanasia.

The 45-year-old men, who were born deaf, had spent their entire lives together, the newspaper reported. They grew up in the same room, both qualified as shoemakers and later moved into the same apartment in Putte, 30 kilometres northeast of Brussels.

But their dwindling eyesight meant that within a few years they would lose their only means of communication. They found the prospect of only being able to touch one another intolerable, the newspaper wrote.

Belgian law permits euthanasia if the wish is expressed by the patient and doctors detect an unbearable degree of suffering.

The brothers had no terminal illness or physical pain, but the doctors at the UZ hospital in Brussels agreed to their request.

R.I.P Funky Claude

Jan. 11, 2013

A file photo taken on July 15, 2011 shows Montreux Jazz Festival founder Claude Nobs at a press conference in Montreux. The Montreux Jazz Festival announced that Nobs, 76, died on January 10, 2013 after a skiing accident over the Christmas holidays.
Claude Nobs, the founder of the famed Montreux Jazz Festival -- and immortalized in Deep Purple's 1972 hit "Smoke on the Water" -- has passed away at the age of 76 from injuries suffered in a skiing accident on December 21 in Switzerland. He'd been in a coma ever since.

A statement on the festival website reads: "On January 10 you left us, only a few days after your accident in your beloved mountains, overlooking the lake you were so fond of. You will always remain the one who questioned certainties. 'And why not?' You would repeatedly ask the same question when we tried to explain why a project would not be feasible. Reality was never challenged over your wildest dreams – the Montreux Jazz Festival is the ultimate proof of that. We carry on, and will continue to carry on in your spirit everything you taught us. Thank you, Claude."

Nobs started the Montreux Jazz Festival during 1967 while he was director of the city's Tourism Office and grew it to the second largest jazz festival in the world, bringing in not only iconic jazz artists but also incorporation rock and R&B, including appearances by Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and many others.

But Nobs is best known to rock fans from the "Smoke on the Water" lyric line "Funky Claude was running in and out/pulling kids out the ground," recounting his heroic efforts during a 1971 fire at the Montreux Casino while Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention were playing there.

Nobs also served as director of the Swiss branch of the Warner/Elektra/Atlantic conglomerate during the 70s and was heard as the stage announcer on Jethro Tull's 1978 live album "Bursting Out."

Midlands teacher accused of stomping on American flag in class

Jan. 11, 2013

CHAPIN, SC (WIS) - At least one parent calls the actions of a Chapin High School English teacher disrespectful and unpatriotic.

Scott Compton is accused of throwing down the American flag and stomping on it in front of his honors English classes.

When Michael Copeland overheard his teenager talking about what her honors II English teacher did with the flag in their classroom, he pressed for details.

"He drew a couple of symbols, like one of them was a cross, and he said, 'What does this represent,' and everybody said, 'Christianity,'" said Copeland.

"Then he proceeds to take down the American flag, and said, 'This is a symbol, but it's only a piece of cloth. It doesn't mean anything,' and then he throws it down on the floor and then stomps on it, repeatedly."

"I asked what was he trying to get, the point across? And she said, 'I don't know,' and he said, his explanation was there would be no consequences, it's just a piece of cloth that doesn't mean anything."

But there are consequences.

"Our superintendent served in the military, I served in the military for 20 years, our flag is a symbol of our freedom, and so many people have fought and died for that liberty, and so we take this action very seriously," said Mark Bounds, a spokesperson for Lexington-Richland 5.

Compton repeated the lesson in three classes that day, prompting a full investigation. After an unrelated incident at Dutch Fork where a teacher was suspended for a political sign in her room, officials say teachers know better.

"There is a code of ethics for teachers that talks about professional conduct, and then we tell our teachers that their personal opinion is their personal opinion and shouldn't be brought into the classroom, and so we caution them all the time," said Bounds.

Copeland believes telling students the 50 stars symbolize the 50 states, the red and white stripes, symbolize the original 13 colonies might have been a better way.

"He totally ignored what I consider what would have been an excellent teaching point to just simply throw the flag down and show no respect to it at all and to the people that it means a whole lot to," said Copeland.

The class was told they'd have a permanent replacement for Compton for the remainder of the year. District officials say the investigation continues.

Meet the “1%” Funding Anti-Fracking Hysteria

Jan. 11, 2013

The world presented in Matt Damon’s new movie Promised Land is a world in which the fracking movement, well-funded by corporate oil money, takes on a ragtag bunch of idealistic environmentalists. It’s the classic David vs. Goliath story. According to a new report, the anti-fracking movement is just as well-funded by highly organized environmental groups backed by deep-pocketed liberal philanthropists and even Middle East oil money.

According to a new report titled “The Environmental Movement vs. the Marcellus Shale,” the anti-fracking movement, using its friends in media and in Hollywood, has carefully crafted a “little guy” image when the reality is something quite different.

Environmentalists often depict themselves as scrappy underdogs fighting the power of entrenched special interests. But the case of the Marcellus Shale—and the untold energy resources that could be recovered safely by new drilling technology such as fracking—pits “the little guy” against powerful “green” forces such as the Park Foundation and the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Sometimes Goliath could use a little help. A common tactic used by environmental extremists and their friends in the media is to characterize adversaries as “Goliath”—the powerful villain—in conflict with the good guy, the scrappy underdog, the “David.” In fact, the purported David may be made up of wealthy foundations, powerful politicians, and unaccountable bureaucrats, and Goliath may be small farmers, working-class people, and people with small businesses.

This report is not likely to get much coverage in the so-called mainstream media. Instead, the MSM presents a far different picture. As an example, here’s how the New York Times covered the money behind a fight to start fracking in New York State for a story in late 2011.

The hydrofracking issue has created a cottage industry for paid lobbyists, because the gas-drilling industry previously had little business in the capital. One major gas driller, Chesapeake Energy, has spent more than $1.6 million on lobbying over the past three years. In the three years before that, it spent barely $40,000.

In fact, the reason that it looks as though the fracking interests far outspend the anti-fracking interests is because environmental groups register as a 501 ©3, a tax filing status that allows each of these groups to avoid also having to register as a lobbyist. As such, even though these environmental groups perform the same functions as their lobbying counterparts supporting the fracking movements, the environmental groups are classified as a charity.

As an example, there’s the fight over the Marcellus Shale Region, a treasure trove of natural gas reserves that stretches across parts of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. According to Tom Shepstone, the campaign director for the Northeast Marcellus Initiative (NMI), a group that supports fracking in this area, there are about ten environmental “pressure” groups on the ground spending money and resources to block fracking in the region. The list includes: Earthjustice, Earthworks, the Delaware Riverkeeper, Otsego 2000, the Community Environmental Defense Council, Catskill Citizens for Safe Energy, the Catskill Mountainkeeper, the Environmental Advocates of New York, and the Citizens Campaign for the Environment (CCE) and its sister organization, the Citizens Campaign Fund for the Environment. The CCE alone spent $3 million on efforts in the region last year. None were registered as lobbyists.

Most of the domestic anti-fracking efforts are ultimately funded by one left wing philanthropic group in particular: the Park Foundation. The Park Foundation was originally founded by Roy Park. Park was identified as the 40th wealthiest person in America by Forbes in 1993. His company, Park Communications, had control of 21 radio stations, seven television stations, and 144 publications when it was at its peak. Roy Park left 51 percent of his company to the Park Foundation when he died.

Domestically is not the only place where one will find powerful interests supporting the anti-fracking movement. The movie Promised Land is a great example. The Heritage Foundation reported that the movie’s chief financier was a company wholly owned by the government of the United Arab Emirates. The name of the company is Abu Dhabi Media. The budget for Promised Land was $15 million.

It’s no secret that Middle East oil interests like the UAE see fracking as a direct threat to the endless petro dollars that have been created because oil is the world’s chief energy source. The Middle East has an endless stream of oil, but natural gas is a different story.

The following December 2012 story from the American Interest laid out the threat to Middle East oil that fracking is.

The US shale gas boom, drastically cutting the cost of gas, is shaking the foundations of the Saudi Arabian economic model—and more is coming. The highly profitable $100bn Gulf petrochemical industry is taking a hit as its biggest customer—the U.S.—is importing less and relying instead on domestic production.

It should be noted that this anti-fracking movement comes just as Vladimir Putin attempts to quietly create a pseudo-OPEC in natural gas. A natural gas discovery in 2010 in Israel immediately made that nation a player in the world market. Since, emissaries from Russia have made a number of low key trips to Israel pitching the idea of a conglomerate of natural gas producing nations. So, even as left wing environmentalists attempt to limit our own production domestically of natural gas, our enemies are courting our allies globally to form natural gas partnerships.

Labor union bosses’ salaries put ‘big’ in Big Labor

Jan. 11, 2013

(Washington Times) - There can be riches in standing up for the working class: The Boilermakers union president earned $506,000, plus hundreds of thousands of dollars more for travel expenses, while the Laborers union president made $441,000. The Transportation Communications Union leader made $300,000, bumped up to $750,000 with business expenses.

Patrick W. Flynn makes $435,000 a year in his capacity as treasurer of a 13,600-member Teamsters union local, and the $30,000 in business expenses he collects on top of costs associated with carrying out his duties around Mokena, Ill., approach that of a typical worker’s entire salary.

The average union member has no idea how much the leaders make, said Stanley Oubre, a retired Boilermaker in Louisiana — and can hardly relate.

“It sounds like we’re getting robbed,” Mr. Oubre said of the money earned by International Brotherhood of Boilermakers President Newton B. Jones. “I was a boilermaker for 35 years, and oh, my goodness, what we made was pennies” compared with that.

Over the past decade, top union officials’ compensation has risen even though membership has fallen, and the unions have added significantly more employees to their offices.

Joseph V. Senese was paid $591,346 last year for his role in running the National Production Workers Union, based in the golf course-lined Chicago suburbs, which reported 600 members in 2006 and none in 2007, according to union disclosures.

Tax records confirm a pattern of high salaries, with base compensation of $583,000 in 2008, and show that Mr. Senese, in turn, issued hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash loans back to the union.

For decades, the union spent “large sums of money” to provide Mr. Senese with around-the-clock security after his brother and father, also union honchos, survived assassination attempts and federal authorities barred his father from union activity for life, alleging mob ties, according to a 1993 Chicago Tribune article.

“We don’t talk to newspaper reporters. Don’t call back here,” a staffer at the union’s full-time office said last week before hanging up the phone.

John M. Lazzaretto, business manager of Local 152 of the Laborers International Union of North America in Highland Park, Ill., was paid $419,543. The 1,000-member union local counted Mr. Lazzaretto’s son, Michael, as an organizer, and his cousin, Vallie, as secretary, and a Brennan Lazzaretto as janitor.

“A big portion of that final salary was a retirement package. My salary probably averaged about $250,000, which for a business manager, I was probably top three or four. There’s probably three or four people in the Chicago area making more than $300,000. Of course, times have changed; people get rid of the heavy earners,” Mr. Lazzaretto said.

“I was the only trustee left after the feds came in, when the government put a consent decree over the whole international union alleging there was ties to organized crime,” he said. “I came out with a clean bill of health.”

Despite unions’ focus on income equality, the division between the highest-paid and lowest-paid union employees has grown over time, and the rank-and-file workers toiling in factories and construction sites that the union officers represent especially pale in comparison with the top officials tasked with representing them.

In 2000, the bottom quarter of full-time employees at union offices, such as administrative assistants at headquarters, made less than $33,900, while the top quarter made more than $65,400. In 2011, the bottom quarter made $45,000 compared with $89,800 for the top quarter.
Among reports for fiscal 2012 submitted so far, the bottom quarter made $49,700 compared with $103,100 for the top quarter, an analysis of union disclosures by The Washington Times indicated.

Don Loos, a former Department of Labor official who is now an adviser at the National Right to Work Committee, said labor leaders with compensation that is worlds apart from those they are representing make it difficult for them to empathize with life in the trenches.

“Look at SEIU: That’s a union of janitors, and you’ve got people at the top making $500,000 a year, plus a lot of them have their hands in more than one till — they’re making additional money from the pension funds. A lot of these groups were a part of the Occupy Wall Street movement, and they really pushed the notion of ‘fat cats,’ but union bosses have always been fat cats,” he said.

Luxury items

Union dues sometimes finance seemingly luxury items for officers.

The Internal Brotherhood of Teamsters held its annual Employee Benefits Program conference in Hawaii in 2010, while in 2008, the American Postal Workers Union sent its secretary-treasurersto Puerto Rico for training.

In 2007, the Teamsters spent $55,000 on gourmet steaks for stewards, while the Ohio Association of Public School Employees held an executive board meeting at Morton’s Steakhouse at a cost of $9,400 in 2008.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers has yearly “golf outings,” often at a cost of $30,000. In 2005, the Pennsylvania Public Employees Union paid $15,000 for “education of officers” at Fernwood Resort and Country Club.

Last year, the United Steelworkers spent $1.1 million on catering on top of $1 million for lodging and other costs at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for its annual convention in August, for which 3,000 officials flew out.

In 2009, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union spent $574,000 on “ex[ecutive] board meeting/lodging” at Buena Vista Palace, a Disney World golf resort.

Until recent years, a handful of unions had private jets to ferry officials to meetings in style.

The International Union of Bricklayers, until at least 2011, owned a plane, but “shortly after James Boland became president in February 2010, the international executive board grounded the plane and put it on the market, where it remained for a number of months owing to an excess of similar planes for sale. It was sold in February 2012,” Connie Lambert, the Bricklayers’ communications director, said in an email.

J. Justin Wilson, managing director of the Center for Union Facts, a union-watchdog group, said spending of members’ dues on officers’ perks represented a conflict of interest because “the board of the union has the fiduciary responsibility.”

“There have been more than a few instances of labor leaders living high on the hog at the expense of their members,” he said. Those excesses occur in the corporate world, too, but as nonprofits, “technically they are beholden to the taxpayers. In exchange for not paying taxes, there’s a greater degree of responsibility.”

Beefed-up staff

Even as memberships dropped, union overhead became more bulky, with the number of organizers and other employees working in private-sector union offices rising from 41,000 in 2000 to 47,000 in 2011, after peaking at 51,000 in 2008. Total salaries, adjusted to 2011 dollars, rose from $4.4 billion to $4.7 billion over the past decade.

The Air Line Pilots Association spent more than $36 million on wages in 2011 for 324 staffers, or $617 for each of its 58,874 members. The California Nurses Association has 86,000 members and spent $25 million on 338 staffers, 124 of whom have six-figure incomes.

The United Auto Workers, with 380,000 members, spent $83 million on salaries for 886 employees, 508 of whom made six figures.

Officers of small, little-scrutinized locals were sometimes paid on par with their peers in much bigger organizations.

The Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 52 in Seattle has only 139 members, but its treasurer, David Black, was paid $206,000, and its president, Glen Anderson, made $196,000, according to disclosures.

No union had more members working in the home office, rather than in the factories, than the Steelworkers, which employs 974 people, half at six figures, in its national headquarters. The Steelworkers union has 600,000 members. Yet its president, Leo Gerard, made only $195,000 — meaning officials like Mr. Anderson, Mr. Black and Mr. Lazzaretto made more for running unions a fraction of the size.

Dues and perks

Those salaries are financed largely, of course, by dues paid by members, and the average dues paid to a local by each member rose to $401 in 2011, up from $272 in 2000, or $355 in inflation-adjusted dollars. But some dues were far steeper than others. Boilermakers Local 154 raised its dues from 4 percent to 7 percent of wages over the past five years, for example.

Few national unions pay their leaders more per member than the Longshoremen’s Association, a 43,500-member organization that spends $10 million a year on staff, paying President Harold Daggett $436,600 and Secretary-Treasurer Robert E. Gleason and Vice President Benny Holland Jr. $401,000 each.

They are old hands and long-accustomed to such pay. In 2005, tax records show, Mr. Gleason was making $430,000, Mr. Daggett was making $303,000 as an organizer and Mr. Holland was making $287,000. All estimated that they worked only 20 hours a week.

Many Longshoremen’s Associations deduct 10 percent of workers’ pay, as do many Iron Workers locals. Some chapters of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers deduct up to $4.17 per hour, while locals within the International Union of Elevator Constructors take up to $626 a quarter.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, some dues for members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters are as low as one-half of 1 percent, and the figure for some locals of Unite Here, a union of 265,000 hotel, food service, laundry, warehouse and casino workers, is 1 percent.

Some with lower dues managed to decrease the financial burden by cutting overhead.

Tampa, Fla.’s American Postal Workers Local 259 lowered working dues from $38 to $26 per month as the 12,500-member union trimmed staff from 23 to five in the past decade.

Iron Workers Local 44 raised dues from 6 percent to 10 percent, then managed to drop them to 4 percent by “consolidating two offices into one,” business manager Jason Mullins said.

The amount of funding that goes toward representation — activities like negotiating or enforcing contracts — has remained steady at a bit less than one-fifth of unions’ outlays.

But many locals consistently spend far less. The Carpenters Union Local 630, for example, collected $382,000 in dues in 2011 and spent only $170 on representation. At the same time, it spent a quarter-million dollars on “overhead” and “administration.”

Bill Butler, corporate communications executive of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, said a $1 million payout to retiring official Michael J. Sullivan was a one-time thing. “When he retired, he got a lump sum. That was part of a payment he was entitled to, and no one else is going to receive it,” he said.

Other unions justified high salaries for officers by likening them to CEOs of large corporations.

Galen Munroe, a spokesman for the Teamsters union, said it was on the members to take action if they deem salaries too high.

“This is public information, and it’s the members’ prerogative with this information in hand to vote officers in or out,” Mr. Munroe said.

Liberal California: Former death row inmate kills mom

Jan. 11, 2013

VALLEJO, Calif. (AP) — A California man once sentenced to death for killing two people in the 1960s was under arrest Thursday after police said he led officers to the body of his 89-year-old mother.

Investigators said Dennis Stanworth, 70, called Vallejo police just before noon Wednesday and said he had killed his mother at his home.

Stanworth led officers to the body of Nellie Turner Stanworth. Investigators wouldn't say how she was killed.

Lt. Jim O'Connell said in a news release that Stanworth was arrested for investigation of murder and booked into the Solano County Jail.

Stanworth was sentenced to death in 1966 after being convicted of two counts of murder for kidnapping, sexually assaulting and shooting two teenage girls in Contra Costa County.

The California Supreme Court reversed his death sentence in 1969 after finding 12 prospective jurors were dismissed because they said they opposed the death penalty. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled a year earlier that such jurors shouldn't be automatically excluded from a death penalty case unless they make clear they can't impose capital punishment under any circumstance.

Stanworth was sentenced to death again after a second trial. But in 1974, his death sentence was converted to life in prison along with 107 other California Death Row inmates including Charles Manson when the state Supreme Court struck down capital punishment. California reinstated the death penalty in 1978, but those former death row inmates such as Stanworth and Manson kept their life sentences.

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation records show Stanworth was released from prison on parole in 1990. The documents show him released from parole in 1993, though he was still required to register as a sex offender.

Big Dreamer Obama: I Don’t Need Congress To Take Your Guns

Jan. 11, 2013
Daily Witness Staff

In a gun-grabbing scheme as desperate as it is wrong, President Obama is threatening to bypass Congress and go it alone via Executive Orders if legislators don’t move fast.

The sudden rush to Executive Orders comes as Obama sees the writing on the wall: the American people do not want more gun control, and the Republican Congress is listening to the people.

Thus, Obama’s roots are showing — his Chicago thuggery is coming out. And through the threat of Executive Orders, he’s basically telling citizens that he will get what he wants… and they will like it.

Although the country was reeling and emotionally fragile on Dec. 14 and the days immediately thereafter, we found our footing and realized anew that the actions of one — in this case, Adam Lanza — ought not in any way limit the freedom of the many.

As a result, Obama has watched as Americans vote with their wallets at gun stores, ammo dealers, and gun shows. He knows that every passing day without new gun control legislation is a day in which other news gets the chance to drown out the gun control mantra Obama sycophants in the media have pushed since Sandy Hook.

Soon, all media talking heads pushing gun control will sound as lost and shameful as Piers Morgan. And at that point, the chances for more gun control legislation go from zero to less-than-zero.

Unless we do things the Chicago way, of course. And if we do that, Obama will stretch his Executive Order powers until they almost snap to bypass Congress and implement every gun control measure he can implement.

Call it what you want; it’s just Chicago thuggery 101.

Pentagon considers hiring freeze, contract delays

Jan. 11, 2013

NOTE: Cushy unionized government jobs WILL NOT be effected. Only those in the greedy private sector who do government work. As you were..

Dec. 14, 2012: U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta meets with troops at Kabul International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. (AP)
Washington The Pentagon will begin taking steps to freeze civilian hiring, delay some contract awards and curtail some maintenance to prepare for drastic budget cuts if Congress can't reach an agreement on a final spending plan, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Thursday.
Speaking to reporters, Panetta said that department officials must also develop detailed plans to implement unpaid furloughs for civilian personnel. The furloughs would kick in if the automatic cuts are triggered.

But Panetta said he has asked defense leaders to ensure that any initial moves they make now should be reversible if at all possible, and they must minimize harmful effects on military readiness.

"The simple fact is that this fiscal uncertainty has become a serious threat to our national security," Panetta said during a Pentagon press conference. "We really have no choice but to prepare for the worst."

The Pentagon is facing a spending reduction of nearly $500 billion over a decade. An additional $110 billion in automatic spending cuts to military and domestic programs will take effect in early March if no agreement is reached.

At the same time, Panetta and Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, noted that Congress has not passed the 2013 defense department budget proposed by the Pentagon last year, and has instead just approved spending equal to the 2012 fiscal year levels. As a result, Panetta said if Congress fails to pass a new budget or avoid the automatic cuts the Pentagon will have to find an almost immediate $40 billion in savings.

And Dempsey said overall the department would have to absorb as much as $52 billion in cuts to planned spending by the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30.

In order to protect the troops still fighting in Afghanistan, Dempsey said the effect on the rest of the force would be devastating.

"Operations, maintenance and training will be gutted. We'll ground aircraft, return ships to port, and sharply curtail training across the force," Dempsey said. "We'll be unable to reset the force following a decade of war. Our readiness will begin to erode. Within months, we'll be less prepared. Within a year, we'll be unprepared."

He stressed, however, that he will not shortchange troops in combat or wounded warriors and their families.

Panetta's guidance was laid out in a four-page memo to department heads that outlined the "near-term actions" they should take including potentially firing any temporary hires, informing some contract employees that they will not be renewed, curtail travel, training, conferences, and spending on supplies, and cut money from base operations.

He said that by Feb. 15, officials must cancel ship, aviation and depot maintenance for the third and fourth quarters

Panetta, who has consistently been harshly critical of Congress' impasse on the budget, said he understands that the politics are difficult, but lawmakers in Washington need to have the same courage as the military troops fighting on the warfront. A former budget director in the Clinton administration, when afiscal impasse forced lawmakers to briefly shut down the federal government, Panetta said the political tenor in town has worsened.

"When we dealt with Reagan as president, and when we dealt with Bush as president, it was a Democratic Congress. The (House) speakers at the time really felt that if we could work out agreements with the president, that even though a Republican president would benefit, a Democratic Congress would benefit, as well, by governing the nation," recalled Panetta. "For whatever reason, that concept has been lost."

Now, he said, "I think that there's an attitude that governing isn't necessarily good politics, that gridlock and confrontation is good politics. And I think we pay a price for that."

Womp, womp: The U.S. loses ground in economic freedom, again

Jan. 11, 2013

(Hot Air) - The Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation have released their annual Index of Economic Freedom for 2013, and bad news, friends: More top-down regulations, more federal intrusion, expanded deficit spending, and heightened rent-seeking are in fact not conditions conducive to economic freedom. Based on measures relating to the rule of law, limited government, regulatory efficiency, and open markets, the United States came in tenth place, following Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Chile, Mauritius, and Denmark. The least-free countries were Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Cuba, and North Korea in dead last.

Registering a loss of economic freedom for the fifth consecutive year, the U.S. has recorded its lowest Index score since 2000. Dynamic entrepreneurial growth is stifled by ever-more-bloated government and a trend toward cronyism that erodes the rule of law. More than three years after the end of recession in June 2009, the U.S. continues to suffer from policy choices that have led to the slowest recovery in 70 years. Businesses remain in a holding pattern, and unemployment is close to 8 percent. Prospects for greater fiscal freedom are uncertain due to the scheduled expiration of previous cuts in income and payroll taxes and the imposition of new taxes associated with the 2010 health care law. …

Under Democratic President Barack Obama, the federal system of government, designed to reserve significant powers to the state and local levels, has been strained by the national government’s rapid expansion. Spending at the national level rose to over 25 percent of GDP in 2010, and gross public debt surpassed 100 percent of GDP in 2011.

Not all of the global findings are completely terrible, but the general outlook isn’t really uplifting, either:

“The global advance toward economic freedom has ground to a halt,” according to the editors of the 19th annual Index of Economic Freedom, released today by The Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal.

The world average score of 59.6 was only one-tenth of a point above the 2012 average. Since reaching a global peak in 2008, the editors note, economic freedom has continued to stagnate. The overall trend for last year, however, was positive: Among the 177 countries ranked in the 2013 Index, scores improved for 91 countries and declined for 78.

Is the relationship between all of this exponential growth in bureaucracy and state spending, and the subsequent retraction from robust economic growth, really such a mystery for some people? In a nutshell, more economic freedom leads to more economic growth, a simple point George Will sums up perfectly:

By rescuing almost everyone from restoration of Clinton-era rates, liberals abandoned any pretense of paying for their program of ever-expanding entitlements.

Instead, they made trillion-dollar deficits their program. From 1950 to 2000, economic growth averaged 3.6%; since then it has averaged less than 2%.

Liberals think today’s correlation between the slow economic growth and rapid governmental growth — including under George W. Bush — is a coincidence. Conservatives do not.

But of course, we’ve just voted ourselves another term of more of the same piling-on of big-government spending and bureaucracy, and the global trend is following much the same pattern, so… anybody getting excited for more self-imposed stagnation?

PIERS MORGAN RALLY ATTENDED BY FOUR PEOPLE

Jan. 11, 2013
Paul Joseph Watson

Is this half of Morgan’s CNN viewing audience?

Piers Morgan tweeted a photograph of a “rally” of his supporters outside CNN center in Washington, DC, but whereas over 100,000 Americans signed a petition to deport the CNN host, the rally in support of Morgan was noticeably less popular.

Four people showed up.

Morgan re-tweeted the image with the message, “Supporters rally behind @piersmorgan w signs outside #CNN DC bureau.”

Given that Morgan’s CNN viewing figures are only slightly less abysmal than those of fellow gun control advocate Chris Matthews, one wonders whether this turnout amounts to half his audience.

One of the “supporters” is holding a sign that encourages CNN to give Morgan a raise, presumably upset at the paucity of the former Daily Mirror editor’s $8 million dollar contract. Morgan got the prime time CNN gig despite being fired from the Mirror for printing a fake story and being embroiled in the phone hacking scandal.

Yesterday, the Obama administration defended Morgan’s right to use his first amendment to trash the Constitution, completely oblivious of the fact that non-citizen foreign nationals do not have first amendment rights under legal precedent.

In a related story, a new White House petition demands that the FBI investigate Morgan and guests that appeared on his Tuesday night show after they joked about murdering radio host Alex Jones with a semi-automatic weapon.

During the show, author Buzz Bissinger remarked, “But what do you need a semi-automatic weapon for? The only reason I think you’d need it is, Piers, challenge Alex Jones to a boxing match, show up with a semi-automatic that you got legally and pop him.”

“I’d love to see that,” responded Huffington Post’s Abby Huntsman, adding, “In uniform.”

“I’ll borrow my brother’s uniform,” Morgan responded.

In a separate comment, Bissinger creepily remarked that he didn’t wish Alex Jones to get a 3am phone call telling him his kids had been murdered.

The petition cites Title 18, U.S.C., Section 241 in demanding a, “Federal Bureau of Investigation to undertake an investigation of Piers Morgan, Harry Gerard (Buzz) Bissinger, Abby Huntsman and CNN,” for making death threats live on air.

Yesterday, Jones challenged Morgan to a second debate to be overseen by a moderator, but Morgan has thus far failed to respond.

15-Year Old Boy Uses AR-15 to Defend Himself, Sister Against Home Invaders

by Mary Chastain

(Breitbart.com) - A 15-year old boy used his father’s AR-15 to defend himself and his 12-year old sister against two burglars at their home just north of Houston, Texas.

Their father is a Harris County Precinct 1 deputy constable, and the boy knew what he had to do to keep himself and his sister alive. Around 2:30 PM, two men tried to break in, with one going through the front door and the other in the back.

The boy grabbed the AR-15 and shot at them. The two later showed up at a Tomball hospital. The adult was hit three times and was flown to Memorial Hermann hospital, while the juvenile was taken back to the crime scene.

“We don't try to hide things from our children in law enforcement,” Lt. Jeffrey Stauber said. “That young boy was protecting his sister. He was in fear for his life and her life.”

More stories are coming out about armed citizens defending their lives and property with legally owned firearms. In the span of a week, Breitbart News has reported how a mother used a .38 revolver against an intruder, a man used his weapon to protect his 2-month old son, and a Colorado man invoked the Make My Day law in Colorado in using lethal force to defend himself against three intruders.

Senator Dianne Feinstein and others are trying to push through major gun control laws that would include banning the AR-15, the same gun used by the teenage boy.

Text of “secret” pro-gun clause in Obamacare

Jan. 10, 2013

Only TopConservativeNews.com brings you the full text, not vague claims…

Since no one in Congress actually read Obamacare, no one even knew what was really in it. It turns out that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) was trying to reduce opposition to the bill by inserting “favors” into the 2,800 pages. In order to keep the NRA from entering the debate Reid says he added this gun rights clause.

Several leading Democrats are suggesting forced gun registrations under the guise of keeping mentally unfit people from having guns. The Federal government would then decide who gets to keep their guns. One can argue that Obamacare explicitly bans this type of registration scheme.

Buried in the 2,800 pages is Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.:

(c) Protection of Second Amendment Gun Rights.–

“(1) WELLNESS AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS.–A wellness and health promotion activity implemented under subsection (a)(1)(D) may not require the disclosure or collection of any information relating to–

New York Times Reporter Lays Out 'Far-Right Agenda' of Texas Tea Party

Jan. 10, 2013

The New York Times's Manny Fernandez greeted the opening of the biannual Texas legislative session in Austin in Wednesday's paper: "Texas Budget Surplus Proves as Contentious As a Previous Shortfall." After explaining how Texas has become flush with cash over the last two years, going from a budget deficit to surplus, Fernandez couldn't help working in a cut against the "far-right" Tea Party.

Shortly after noon inside the Capitol’s Senate chamber, Gov. Rick Perry told senators that the comptroller’s revenue estimate released the day before was good news, but cautioned them to retain the state’s fiscally conservative model. Mr. Perry has called on lawmakers to support his so-called Texas Budget Compact, a Tea Party-style pledge to oppose new taxes and to replace the current spending limit for the state budget with an even stricter formula.

...

Though they lost their supermajority in the House in the November elections, Republicans continue to control both chambers of the Legislature and to hold every statewide elected office. But the tone of the session will likely be set not only by numbers, but by the political dynamics at play.

The far-right agenda of grass-roots and Tea Party activists has come to dominate the Republican Party in Texas, turning moderate Republicans into an endangered species for the most part. Mainstream Republicans are likely to use the legislative session to bolster their conservative credentials, particularly after Ted Cruz, a Tea Party favorite, defeated one of the state’s most powerful Republicans, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, in a United States Senate race last year.

Proof Benghazi was Murder of Stevens by Regime

Jan. 10, 2013

Posted by Ann Barnhardt

Hillary began pushing the fake "protests against a video blaspheming the prophet" BEFORE WOODS AND DOHERTY WERE KILLED. Per the story below, the Associated Press first published a story on Hillary's official statement on Benghazi at 10:58pm Eastern, which means that the State Department must have released it BEFORE 10:58 pm EDT. Which means that is was actually written and composed hours before that. State Department press releases in the Secretary of State's name aren't written and released without all kinds of "approvals" and process. And this statement is written in nuanced prose, referencing "religious tolerance" and all kinds of bullshit. It isn't a flash bulletin. It was thought out, long and hard.

Doherty and Woods were killed by mortar fire between 11:14 and 11:26 pm EDT.

Here is the citation link.

Stop and think about this. The bullshit MOTIVE was publicly assigned by the State Department before the murders had even occurred. HOURS before.

As I wrote back in October, Benghazi was the planned and calculated murder of Chris Stevens by the Obama regime, with Hillary at point because they needed him dead to cover the gunrunning by the Obama regime to the Muslim Brotherhood / al Qaeda.

You are paying taxes to this. You are enabling this. You are exactly like the people of Germany paying taxes and giving tacit approval to Hitler and the Third Reich.

Here is the original piece I wrote on October 26th.

Are you ready to listen now?

Let's quit the chickenshit dancing around here. The Obama regime has been running guns and BIGTIME armaments and munitions, including MANPADS, which are shoulder-launched surface-to-air missiles designed to shoot down commercial jetliners, to the Muslim Brotherhood, which is al Qaeda. This is just Fast-and-Furious except that the people being armed are musloids tasked with reforming the Islamic Caliphate instead of the drug cartels. But it is exactly the same thing. Ghadaffi was overthrown because the Obama regime wanted to use a chaotic, destabilized "wild west" Libya as the doorway to the Caliphate to get the arms in for distribution to Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Egypt and eventually Saudi Arabia. Egypt would have been too risky.

Ambassador Chris Stevens and the CIA were somehow, some way running or heavily involved this armament pipeline.

The Obama regime wanted and needed Chris Stevens dead, probably to cover the gun and armament running, so they killed him. Word was sent to the Muslim Brotherhood to attack the Benghazi facility. The Obama regime promised that there would be no interference or retaliation and that a cover story about "slandering the prophet" would be provided. The Muslim Brotherhood wins all around. They get to keep all of the arms and MANPADS supplied by Obama with no whistleblowers AND they get their bullshit sharia law agenda advanced and explicitly ratified by the government of the United States.

Get used to this business of the Oligarch class using the Muslim Brotherhood / al Qaeda to do their dirty work for them. This has been the plan all along, and it will only escalate from here.

As I have been saying since 2008, Barack Obama is the explicit enemy of what used to be the First American Republic, and of Western Civilization in general. EXPLICIT ENEMY. As in traitor. As in treason. As in murderer. As in should be arrested as a non-state, non-uniformed enemy belligerent, tried in a military tribunal, and upon conviction be put against a wall and shot by a firing squad, and then have his dead body publicly displayed so that there will be no future doubt or bullshit conspiracy theory crap that the son of a bitch wasn't executed. No shit.

And the same goes for dozens of people in his "administration" right along with him, except that the U.S. citizens, like Hillary Clinton, should be tried for treason. But like Obama, upon conviction (which should take all of five minutes to deliberate) these people should be executed by firing squad without delay. They are traitors and they are murderers.

After almost four years of this shit, you people are still trying to parse these events as if these people are just misguided or inept. These people are the declared enemy of what used to be the United States (they put the last nail in the coffin - the Republic is already dead) and of Western civilization. They are attempting to bring about a global tyrannical oligarchy and are in a close, explicit alliance with islam in order to consolidate control of the oil producing areas of the muslim world and eliminate Israel, and eventually to use the Caliphate as the army which will totally overrun and overthrow Europe.

Clinton, Obama, Panetta, Axelrod and THEIR HANDLERS, all of these people are coming straight out of Communism, which is really nothing more than a push for a global tyrannical oligarchy. It has little to do with any sort of economic theory per se, its only goal is to put a cadre of oligarchs in power, and to enrich them by any means necessary. We should probably stop calling it Communism and just call it neo-Stalinism.

Chris Stevens was tortured, gang ass raped, killed, and his dead body was gang ass raped again because the initial order came from Washington D.C. to kill him - not kidnap him, KILL HIM. The details really didn't concern the murderers sitting in Washington watching it happen via drone-cam, nor did the collateral damage in the form of the other three men killed. Stevens thought he was "in the club", but the poor fool was just another "stupid faggot" in the eyes of the Obama regime who was used and then killed because he was worth less than nothing to them. But then, all human life is worth less than nothing to these people.

One of the SEALs was on the roof of the building painting a target with a laser expecting a drone or a gunship to engage. What the SEAL failed to understand is that the drone he knew was flying above him was in fact the asset of the very people who ordered the strike, and that they were back in Washington watching via that drone-cam, cooly waiting for him, the ambassador and the other assets there present to die.

You people need to wake the hell up. Prepare for war. These people are killers and will stop at nothing until someone stops them.

Oh, and just for the sake of thoroughness, here is my koran burning, translated with Arabic subtitles by the Egyptian Copts all the way back in April of 2011. As of today it has 684,681 views, most of which are in Egypt and the Arabic-speaking Middle East, with the vast majority of those coming in 2011 and early 2012, LONG BEFORE the so-called "motive" video.

Why am I not in prison? Why was I not blamed for inciting riots? Why have I never been contacted by the CIA, FBI, NSA, State Department, Department of Homeland Security or anyone else - except my local police department offering their support?

I highly suspect that the mohammed video was itself made at the behest of the Obama regime, thus making the whole Stevens assassination a giant false flag operation. The fact that Hillary was trotting the video out before the SEALs were even dead reinforces that hunch profoundly.
