Obama Proposes New Department of Corporate Welfare

Contrary to what various news outlets are reporting, President Obama is NOT proposing to cut government. The administration is proposing to take four independent federal agencies that specialize in corporate welfare – along with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative – and combine them with corporate welfare programs at the Department of Commerce to form what would I would argue should be called the Department of Corporate Welfare. Obama's Phony War on the Rich - Page 1

Ever since the First Couple entered the White House, their social life has swirled around the very rich. Hollywood actors, pop star singers, Wall Street hedge fund managers, billionaire investors — these are the fabled "top 1 percent" in terms of income and wealth.

The Obamas invite them to White House dinners. They vacation with them on Martha’s Vineyard. They party with them. They sup with them at $35,000-a-plate fundraisers.

(Have these affairs ever included an auto worker? A mine worker? How about someone who is unemployed and looking for a job? What about someone who has lost his home? As far as I can tell, the bottom 99 percent never seems to make the cut.) MORE

Why Does Obama Want Our Country To Be Energy Poor?

One of the reasons the unemployment rate has been stuck above 8 percent for years is because the Obama administration is actively blocking the private sector from creating jobs. Approving the Keystone XL pipeline, now in its third year of review, would have gone a long way toward boosting American job creation and strengthening our energy security. But the President prefers the politics of energy poverty and has sided with environmentalist radicals over hardworking Americans and their families.

GMO Giant Monsanto Will Soon Be Allowed To Police Itself

Monsanto, enemy of organic farmers and anti-GMO advocates alike, will likely be allowed to conduct its own environmental studies as part of a two-year USDA experiment. But there is no good that can possibly come of an experiment where the company behind nearly every genetically modified crop in our daily diets is allowed to decide whether its products are causing any environmental harm. And Monsanto isn’t the only biotech company that will be permitted to police itself.

Your question of the day

A great one from Protein Wisdom

Question: is the TSA “racist” for requiring a picture ID?

I’m curious, because somehow we’re supposed to believe it’s somehow “racist” to require you to prove yourself yourself before you cast a vote (as a way to combat voter fraud — which of course isn’t a big problem, and even if it is, well, RACISTS!), and yet it’s not considered “racist” to require people to show a picture ID to board a plane.

More double standards from the left I plan to use this question the first chance I get.

Maybe this is yet another Liberal malady? Double Standard Dysfunction?

Why do dead folks NEVER vote Republican?

Bob Mack wonders about this too!

Anyone who’s not a terminal Obamabot or a sagacity-challenged ‘progressive’ knows damn well why Eric Holder’s Department of Injustice is challenging Voter ID laws from one end of the country to the other: there’s no other way they can get non-documented Democratsor the dearly departed to the polls. In South Carolina,

37,295 people listed by the Election Commission as needing photo IDs are deceased. Of those, 957 were found to have voted after the recorded date of their deaths, according to the SC DMV.

How about that!

In President Obama’s statement denying TransCanada’s Keystone XL pipeline, he said, “The rushed and arbitrary deadline insisted on by congressional Republicans prevented a full assessment of the pipeline’s impact, especially the health and safety of the American people, as well as our environment.”

The President referred to a five-page Department of State (DOS) report that echoed why he decided in November 2011 to postpone the decision until after the 2012 election.

Newt Gingrich had what will be the most talked about moment on the first question of tonight's South Carolina debate, when he brutally smacked down CNN moderator John King for asking him about his ex-wife saying in an interview that he wanted an open marriage. Gingrich eventually said the charge was false, but most of his answer was spent scolding King for asking the question at a presidential debate, which he called "despicable." The crowd broke out in a standing ovation, and it may have neutralized what could have been a damaging issue for him heading into Saturday's primary.

But other than that, it was Rick Santorum who dominated the debate -- taking both Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney to task...

Under Obama, Oil and Gas Production on Federal Lands Is Down 40%

In his announcement rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline today, President Obama boasted that under his administration, “domestic oil and natural gas production is up.” Obama, of course, failed to mention that his administration can’t actually take any credit for the increase.

The vast majority of America’s new oil and gas production is happening on private lands in states like North Dakota, Alaska and Texas.

It’s not that Obama is devoid of responsibility. His administration oversees oil and gas production on federal lands by issuing leases. But when measuring oil and gas production in areas under Obama’s jurisdiction, the numbers tell a different story.

Issa Statement on #SOPA & #PIPA Website Blackouts

WASHINGTON, DC – House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) today issued the following statement on the blackouts of many popular websites – including Wikipedia, Craigslist, Google and thousands of others– in response to the serious threats to an open Internet and digital innovation in America posed by the Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA) and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA):

"The Protect IP Act and SOPA are threats to the openness, freedom, and innovation of the Internet. I applaud the Internet community, including the thousands of blogs and websites that have decided to go dark today, for participating in our democracy and opening up the debate on legislation to the public.

"This unprecedented effort has turned the tide against a backroom lobbying effort by interests that aren't used to being told 'no.' I know suspending and changing access to sites was not necessarily an easy decision, but this is a responsible and transparent exercise of freedom of speech. I applaud those participating in today's protest for their sturdy defense of American innovation, openness and Internet freedom."

The Oversight Committee had originally scheduled a hearing on DNS blocking for today. The hearing was postponed after assurances from Leader Cantor and the removal of DNS blocking provisions from SOPA were made. Even with this alteration, Chairman Issa continues to oppose SOPA as well as PIPA.

Via Fox Nation, is this Pelosi seizing an opportunity to inch away from a fading “Occupy” movement or simply taking care not to offend the screeching “99 percent” by purporting to speak for them? She’s correct on the merits: For all the slobbering over OWS in lefty media, Democratic leaders haven’t embraced the brand yet as robustly as Republicans have embraced the tea-party label. But how could they? Once they call themselves proud occupiers they’ll get all the baggage that comes with it, starting with questions about tent-city rapes and occasional violent confrontations with police. Then again, that baggage hasn’t deterred them from effusive statements of sympathy with the movement. Remember this one?

Obama to Bail Out Russian Space Program

Next to trashing American Citizens who are part of the Tea Party movement, making one-sided demands on Israel and refusing to compromise with Republicans, President Obama's favorite activity is giving away tax-payer money to foreign countries so they can do what he blocks the US from doing. For example he gave Brazil $10 Billion so they could drill for oil off of their coast.

In an exclusive report by Newsbusted Anchor Jodi Miller we learn that Barack Obama is looking to send some of our tax dollars to Russia, to bail out their space program. I guess it makes sense because he has destroyed ours to the point that American Astronauts will hitch rides with the Russians when they need to go into space.
