Darrell Issa subpoenas DHS officials
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is demanding two Homeland Security employees appear in front of his committee’s staff to talk about Freedom of Information practices, the first subpoena that directly targets the Obama administration. The request comes as the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, of which Issa is the chairman, investigates whether DHS employees allow political interference when dealing with FOIA requests. People close to the committee say Issa has whistleblower documents that prove such activity occurs. His first subpoena went to Countrywide Financial.
