THE SOCIALIST CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES?

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
We learned those words in grade school. We were taught that The Preamble of the Constitution is an introduction to a document incredible in its simplicity; a document which expresses in general terms the intentions of its authors. Courts often refer to The Preamble as evidence of what the Founding Fathers thought the Constitution meant and what they hoped it would achieve.
This is where all hell breaks loose.
The Washington Post’s Ezra Klein has complained that the Constitution is ill-equipped to deal with the issues of modern America: “My friends on the right don’t like to hear this, but the Constitution is not a clear document. Written 100 years ago, when America had thirteen states and very different problems, it rarely speaks directly to the questions we ask it.”
However, many of Klein’s pals on the left believe that the Constitution is very relevant today indeed; in fact, they’re using it as a basis for teaching socialism to grade school children throughout the country.
Building Fluency Through Practice and Performance is an “educational” program designed to plant the seeds of socialism in the minds of young children.
My friends on the left will accuse me of overreaching or “right-wing paranoia,” as they often do; with sarcasm, joy or both. So be it; here’s an example of the interpretation of the Constitution that many American school children are being taught:
R7 reads fairly innocuously and sensibly, doesn’t it? “Basic needs” are something we all agree on; it’s the definition and scope of those needs that threaten the very cornerstone of American Exceptionalism; while we are a people of equal opportunity, we are not a people of equal results.
Sadly, the left in America seeks to “remedy” this “injustice” by two primary means:
Wealth redistribution through a progressive tax system
An expanded definition of “rights.”
There is a concerted effort underway to program our children into believing that basic rights now include universal healthcare overseen by the federal government, collective bargaining by unions, and equality of results brought about by the redistribution of wealth.
Our Forefathers shared a mentality of abundance with the vision of a nation where opportunity abounds and hard work pays off. The left in this country has a very different vision; we must level the playing field. Programming the minds of impressionable young children seems to be a great place to start.
