CBP nabs $10.5m worth of narcotics, 2,765 illegal immigrants

TUCSON - In just one week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection was responsible for the seizure of nearly 20,000 pounds of narcotics, worth an estimated $10.5 million, and the apprehension of 2,765 illegal immigrants at the Arizona border.

Between April 18 and 25, CBP officers in the Arizona Joint Field Command seized 19,800 pounds of marijuana, 28 pounds of methamphetamines, three pounds of heroin and 18 pounds of cocaine. CBP also seized $53,792 in cash, five weapons, over 15,000 rounds of ammunition, and 52 vehicles used for illicit purposes.
