MA Dems Remove American History From Standardized Tests

As if the education system in Massachusetts couldn’t be any further slanted to the left, we received word today that State Senate Democrats have voted to keep American History out of the classroom. This is an obvious attempt by the liberal ‘intelligentsia’, who have had oligarchic control over MA for generations, to ensure power by dumbing down the electorate.

Here in Massachusetts, public school students must past the MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System) test in order to receive a high school diploma. The MCAS is a general knowledge test that was created in order to:
To inform/improve curriculum and instruction;
To evaluate student, school, and district performance according to Curriculum Framework content standards and MCAS performance standards;
To determine eligibility for high school Competency Determination.

Think of this as a small scale version of “no child left behind”.

For years now, the Department of Education has been postponing the implemention of the American History section of the MCAS tests, but today during a budget debate, all but 1 democrat in our state senate voted to remove the American History portion of the MCAS test once and for all. The final vote on the amendment was 5-31. (Yes we only have 4 Republican State Senators in MA.)

This vote guarantees that future graduates will have even lesser understanding of our great nation and the role they play in defending it for future generations.

The entire ludicrous scenario brings to mind a famous quote by George Santayana:

“Those who do not read history are doomed to repeat it.”

If we erase American History, we are left with tyranny and slavery with no patriotic solution and no hope for better (exactly where liberals want us).

The following video, which recaps the events of the day at the state house in 2 minutes or less, features our good friend State Senator Bob Hedlund. Senator Hedlund represents the small minority of common sense left in MA.
