RUSH: This is Colleen in Dagsboro, Delaware. Welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Hi there, Rush. Thanks for taking my call. I was just calling because this whole gay marriage before the Supreme Court, my worry is that if they decide it is a right, then does that mean they are going to force churches like the Catholic Church to perform weddings just like they forced Obamacare and abortion and birth control?

RUSH: Well, I don't think anybody knows. If there is such a desire to also attack the structure of the Catholic Church, then that would be something that would happen down the road. Once the concept of gay marriage, homosexual marriage, is sanctioned and made legal, then, if a religion or an individual church refuses to perform the ceremony, then there could well be a lawsuit. And then it would depend on how a judge felt about it. So it's theoretically possible, yeah. I mean, look. If the Catholic Church can be forced to give away abortifacients and birth control pills, why can't the church be forced to marry gay couples who want the sacrament?

CALLER: Or any church really.

RUSH: Any church, right, any church.

CALLER: Then would they be, you know, attacked because then it would be discrimination?

RUSH: Exactly. But I think it's a pretty safe bet that that kind of thing will happen. I mean, among militant leftists, attacking organized religion is part of the political agenda, whether they're gay or not. I mean, there's militant leftists. You know, organized religion is morality. Organized religion is definite black and white and no gray areas other than churches who have decided, you know, to replicate the Republican Party and try to be all things to all people. But some churches do not change to match the whims of a floating culture, and those churches are under assault, and will continue to be.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: Independent of gay marriage.

CALLER: That's why I wonder about the motives of them demanding gay marriage and not civil unions.

RUSH: Well, we'll see. We'll see. If you had to roll the dice on it, yeah, that would be the next phase. When it becomes legal and a church refuses to do it, don't go someplace that will; sue the people that won't. That's just a political philosophy of people on the left.

Back after this.

RUSH: Jerry in San Francisco. Great to have you on the phone, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Good morning, I guess afternoon where you're at. Yeah, I think there's a couple of concepts that need to be discussed regarding the gay marriage thing. You've got a group, a Negro group of homophobic phobics. They are so afraid of being labeled homophobic, they will literally apologize forever, for not being homosexual. And I think that's why they're so gung ho supporting gay marriage. And we have another group, the heterophobes, which is basically your militant gays that actually hate us breeders and will do everything they can to bring us down to their level.

RUSH: Wait a minute. Gay people hate straight people?

CALLER: Well, not all of them. But the militant

RUSH: The militant.

CALLER: The radical ones are actually heterophobic.

RUSH: Well, that word's not been bandied about much, heterophobes. But homophobes is all over the place. So you think there are homophobic homophobes who are afraid to say anything antigay because they'll be ripped to shreds and they don't want to be ripped?

CALLER: Oh, yeah. I've actually heard Al Sharpton on his radio show apologize for two minutes for not being homosexual when he was asked if he had any of those tendencies. It took him two minutes to say he's heterosexual.

RUSH: He's not?

CALLER: He's a homophobic phobic.

RUSH: Wow, he's not? I didn't know that. Not that there's anything wrong with it. I didn't know that. Two minutes apologizing, wow.
