The Way Out

Ever since shortly after the American revolution, there have been organized groups who have sought to change the fundamental principles of America. I’m not here to list off who they all are, it doesn’t matter. The point is that saying there is a liberal, organized, well funded, deliberate effort to fundamentally change the country is neither untrue, nor is it a strange conspiracy theory. Socialists have been at work for more than century, believing in their vision of a state run life and society. Communists, too, sought actively to subvert our nation. These are facts of history, proudly proclaimed by these groups.

Modern liberals are nothing like historical liberals – I am a Jeffersonian liberal, but bear not the slightest resemblance to a modern liberal. We agree on almost nothing, in terms of government, governance, the role of government, and how people should live. Our views of what “freedom” is overlap only negligibly. But the organization efforts that drew large crowds to morally substantive, historical efforts by “liberals”, have been sustained. Today, a conservative is almost not to be found anywhere in academia, being shunned, blacklisted, and discriminated against with the utmost of zeal. Whereas “old” liberalism was an advocate of free thought, todays liberalism is wholly against it.

Yet, I maintain that the two are closely connected. That the leaders of the movements changed, and the intent of those leaders changed, but the stated goals and the masses ideology has changed little. Instead, the leadership had to outlive the generational resistance to its agenda, and raise a new generation or two who are compliant and unquestioning of what has become an American version of the old Soviet brainwashing.

Liberals sought to embed themselves in education, media, and government. These are the tools of modern liberalism. To control thought, to control people, to control, period, has become the agenda. If you don’t look carefully, you’ll never recognize the “we want power to control everyone but thee” message of today’s liberalism. A hypocrisy of monumental proportions, but blessed and endorsed by its leadership as a necessary step. After all, they proudly point to their claimed goals and summon instant moralizing denunciation for anyone who dares question their stated lofty-sounding goals. Except those goals are wholly false.

Oddly enough, the modern liberal movement came to a large degree out of the 50′s and 60′s rejection of ‘the establishment’, and whose leaders were apparently smart enough to create straw man targets, but apply them to real world institutions. And thus, the dichotomy has become institutionalized. Much of today’s society demonizes business, spouting moralistic platitudes, but yet, believe they should still be in business and profit from it – sort of a “business is ok, if we (the right people) do it, but not if you (the wrong people) do it. Thus, the biggest funders and leaders of modern liberalism and its organizations escape all scrutiny, while engaging in all the same selfish, profit-driven actions as everyone else. Sort of a “righteousness by policy statement” sort of thing. You’re “good” and not to be questioned if you telegraph all the right clues.

I said “oddly enough”, because liberalism has now wholly co-opted the establishment, and is now the mainstream news, media, entertainment, politics, education, etc, and yet still is trying to use the same time honored “anti-establishment” canards to sway thinking. Liberals do their utmost to gain control of institutions of every kind, to deliberately alter the information you get, the messages your children hear, to mock and demonize the culture, morals, beliefs, and politics of the non-conforming. Yet, insist that anyone not conformance with them, is a conspiracy to mislead and control everyone’s thinking.

At this point, many writers start blaming the political conservative establishment for the state of affairs, that they have accepted far too much compromise, change, etc, etc. Such argument is disingenuous at best. Like our forefathers, conservatives did not believe in the use of government to control the population’s thinking, or to use the power of the state to wholesale adjust the values and political beliefs of everyone. They used, instead, the power of superior ideas to inspire their generation and several following to adhere to them.

In fact, the superiority of a culture of freedom and liberty was so obvious and so amazingly stark in contrast to elsewhere, that the philosophical battle was won for a century and then some, needing no institutional reinforcement to continue. In fact, we as conservatives are directly opposed to using the force of government to impose our ideas on others. Liberals actively seek power to impose their ideas on everyone – and consider it not only a virtue, but demonizing every other idea as evil.

We conservatives believed that the overwhelming truth of what the founders established and wrote down for us was never contradicted, has never been surpassed by anything, especially not the statist and totalitarian regimes of socialism, communism and other statist dogmas. And thus, we expected those who are charged with teaching history and other fundamental truths, to continue to teach those things which are true. Except they didn’t. The hippy culture of the 60′s turned into a “reject objective truth and accept the enlightenment of new thought”, and has been imposing its mandates and ideology upon the nation for now, 40 to 50 years. At first, from the outside, and now, as those in control of all our major institutions, media, etc.

You could shout blame anyone and everyone, but the fact is, believing that our institutions would remain rational is, well, reasonably rational. And would be, had our institutions remained under the control of rational people. But they haven’t been. And thus, we need to examine our fundamental approach to our society, government, and education.

Liberals invest huge amounts of money in hopes of imposing their will, by organizations that promise to do so. Whether it was the failed Air America, or by gaining control of most editorial boards of newspapers, of gaining control over the hiring and firing of educators, and so on, they have deliberately and willingly devoted billions of dollars. And, they have also coopted the government itself, using public money under the guise of education and otherwise, to fund and promote more power and control for themselves. Billions of dollars of conservative’s money is taken each year, doled out by congress, to specifically advance the ideology of liberalism. Is it wrong? Is it done dishonestly? Of course. But dishonesty to achieve power – when power is a virtue – is not something to shame that seeker of power. In other words, we can’t embarrass the liberals into not using public institutions, money, and so on. To them it is a virtue.

That they must lie to maintain the flow of money and power is not a weapon to use against them. For the most part, the people who are funding them are immune to truth and immune to arguments based on objective principles and truths. They believe what they want, because they want to, not becuase it’s true, but because they want it.

For decades, conservatives have toiled under the mistaken belief that merely exposing the shenanigans of liberals would defeat them. Sure, we exposed them, but at the same time, the liberals have been morphing the message to say that what they’re doing is good anyway, so, what’s it matter? Be it law, Constitution, principle, none of these matter in any way, unless they can be used in some sort of twisted expediency to advance a liberal’s agenda. When it’s against them, they simply ignore them. After all, they believe they are morally superior to the law, constitution, and old fashioned true principles. Anyone who fails to conform is merely tagged as immoral in some fashion and an orchestrated chorus chants the message in unison until that person is driven from the public arena – a public arena that has become the liberal’s home turf.

So, instead of pointing fingers, I’m going to suggest that we as conservatives must engage in a culture war. After all, that’s what liberals have done. They conducted it against everything good and decent and true about America for the last century, and now their success has all but destroyed the country.

First, we need to form the equivalent, deliberate, articulate and unashamed structure with which to fight back. We need to force our way back into academia, create our own media, and remove their ownership of the public stage.

It starts with the grass roots, of course. First, we must come to this realization, as I have, that truth alone does not win the day. That organization, deliberate action, and well conducted strategy and efforts will. Starting at your local school board, your city council, your state houses, the boards of directorships for every large corporation. We must get ourselves elected to THEIR institutions and turn them against them. Take over the labor union leadership, take over the directorships of the academic institutions. Form the same giant networks of funding and power and use them to force them out.

We must be UNABASHED IN OUR EFFORTS TO SAVE OUR NATION. For one, there is not and never was anything wrong with the founding principles. There is nothing wrong with liberty. We must become as devoted to our beliefs as they are to aquiring and weilding power. And we must CREDIBLY RESTORE LIBERTY.

There’s plenty of days ahead to nail down the tactics and methods of doing each of those. But first, if we don’t win the culture change within our conservative base – who is still well the majority of Americans – we will accomplish nothing. It means nothing, actually, if we elect a conservative president and Congress, if the means by which liberals regain power is still in place – which is to be in control of our public commons, our media, our entertainment, our educational system. That congress may roll back any number of things and reset things back to Constitutional compliance, but the liberal war machine will simply undo it the first chance it gets.

We must establish institutions of higher learning. Gain control of more of the existing ones. Create new media empires. Create new entertainment networks and production systems. Fund, produce, and distribute entertainment which is NOT liberal brainwashing. And do so delibarately. What, did conservatives think that conservatives can’t produce movies? Docuymentaries? Create successful media empires? Run news networks? Magazines? Studios? What, we have no talented actors, musicians, etc? Of course we do. Probably have the superior ones.

If a new media empire needs to be created in Boise, rather than Hollywood, then conservative investors need to bet their money on the future and fund them. We need educational institutions with extraordinary standards. The kind even liberal parents will line up to send their kids to. We can, we know how, we excell on excellence and doing things better.

I’m not discounting the TEA Party. Rather, I credit it with waking me up. I’m not discrediting great think tanks in DC. We do need them. They have theirs ,we need ours. It’s war and we have to never depend on the enemy’s infrastructure to win.

Ready to sign up and be a soldier to take the country back?
