Concealed-carry gun measure moves on(CO)
DENVER -- A controversial measure that would allow gun owners to carry concealed weapons without permits, and thus avoid a second round of background checks, is moving forward. House Bill 1205, sponsored by Rep. Chris Holbert, R-Parker, sailed through the House Judiciary Committee on an 8-3 vote, despite opposition from gun-control groups. Holbert, a gun-owner himself, wrote the bill along with Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, a group of Second Amendment advocates who find the second round of backround checks for concealed-carry permits unnecessary.
