Istanbul - Terrorist network al-Qaeda praised the uprising against Libyan leader Moamer Gaddafi, in a video posted on an Islamic website on Saturday.
The message, spoken by a man thought to be close to Osama bin Laden, also called the people of Tunisia and Egypt 'heroes' for getting rid of their presidents.
The video was made by Abu Jahja al-Libi, one of a group of people who escaped from a US prison at Baghram in Afghanistan in 2005. He is believed to be Libyan.
An earlier video by al-Qaeda Number 2 Eiman Zawahiri several days ago also took note of the uprising in Egypt.
However, both videos gave the impression al-Qaeda had been taken by surprise by the developments in North Africa.
