WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI says a Nigerian man boarded a Virgin Atlantic airplane last week with an invalid boarding pass.
The man, Olajide Olwaseun Noibi, sneaked onto a flight from New York to Los Angeles and sat in the main cabin. When a flight attendant asked him to show his boarding pass, he produced an expired pass that belonged to someone else. Days later, airport officials found 10 expired boarding passes in his bag — none of them in his name.
The Transportation Security Administration says Noibi was screened before he boarded the flight.
Passengers are supposed to show an identification card and boarding pass at airport security checkpoints.
Noibi has been charged with being a stowaway.
