Pesco Declared Chief Minster House and Governor House Exempt from Paying Electricity Bills.

Peshawar, 18 August 2011, provincial government has tackled the issue with the Pesco of pending electricity bills; Pesco (Peshawar Electric Supply Company) will not disconnect the Electricity of CM and Governor House Peshawar. All government offices were declared exempt from disconnection

According to media reports Pesco agree with the Provincial Government they didn’t disconnect electricity even if they didn’t pay to Pesco. This has come after Pesco demand of electricity bill and warned; if the Chief Minister House and Governor House Peshawar didn’t pay their due bill they will disconnect the electricity to CM and Governor House Peshawar.

Provincial government claimed in meeting with Pesco official that they send over billing to CM and Governor House. The KP chief minister's House and Governor House are among the public sector electricity consumers, Pesco notice them to pay their dues bill of electricity, same notice also issued to Chief Secretary and Secretary Treasury. That makes tension between Pesco and Provincials Government of KP.

According to media Report Pesco has warned the CM & Governor House and other offices, because of unpaid dues Pesco in financial crises. So they pay their Bills. After the notices Provincial Government highlight the issue with Pesco Chief Mohammed Wali to stop the over billing and didn’t disconnect the electricity CM and Governor House, other wise provincial government will goes to court against Pesco.

Local Media disclose that Pesco official settled that they will not disconnect the Chief Minister House & Governor House electricity even if they didn’t paid the bills. Also the electricity of Peshawar High Court , Supreme Court Registry Branch Peshawar , All central prison of KP and Hospitals.

Chief Minister House & Governor House one of those building whose enjoying electricity and they didn’t face any break up of Electricity break down. Even people of KP were facing long break down of Electricity and they were protest also against Electricity break down. According to media Reports all the offices include Chief Secretary Office and Secretary Treasury were situated in VIP corner, which also declared Red zone.

Two days before the Speaker of Provincial Assembly Karmat Ullah called to Pesco Chief Mohammad Wali at their office, MPAs (Member of Provincial Assembly) also attend the meeting and they criticize the Electricity Break down in KP province. Especially in Ramadan people of the province living in dark.

Its also remind that in 2004 Chief Minister Secretariat and Governor house facing same problem and they were not paying the electricity bills, that time electricity arrears payable by Governor House stood at Rs 3.55 million on, whereas, the Chief Minister's Secretariat owed Rs 1.8 million to Pesco.
