During trying economic times, it’s not unusual for desperate people to do desperate things in order to survive financially. The same can be said about both aspiring politicians and entrenched ones when they feel desperate enough to misrepresent themselves and their campaigns to the electorate.
Republican Congressional candidate and businessman Ozzie de Faria is running in a contested primary to unseat Democrat Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in Florida with the help of a highly suspicious Tea Party organization, the National Tea Party Alert dot com. The NTPA put out a fundraising press release to promote de Faria’s candidacy. A virtual newbie to the political world, deFaria concedes that he has “seeded” his campaign before asking for a donation.
In late September, sources from established Tea Party groups told the Shark Tank that there was rumored to be a possible candidate, either a Democrat plant or Republican spoiler candidate that would enter the FL-20 race, specifically and strategically target the tea party/grassroots front runner in the race, Karen Harrington. Harrington faced Wasserman-Schultz in 2010 and garnered nearly 40% of the vote, running a bare-bones five month campaign.
The release starts off with,”Please read this special message from our friend, Ozzie deFaria for Congress,” before it lays into Wasserman-Schultz and her Obama agenda- a typical grassroots tea party style press release. Click here for deFaria’s press release.
The NTPA is highly suspected to be a Democrat front organization, or a phony tea party front group with no real organization at best. Unlike other legitimate ‘Tea Party’ organizations who have officers, directors, and are openly registered with their respective states, the NTPA is not a nationally registered 501c3 or 501c4. After searching through a slew of databases, it can be reported that the NTPA does not exist. If we are wrong, please send us documentation proving otherwise.
A domain search of NTPA.com shows that the domain was recently registered (4/14/2011) as a ‘domain by proxy,” meaning that the owners want to keep their contact and registration information secret. Aren’t all legitimate ‘Tea Party’ organizations all about transparency?

An additional Google search combined and help from other tea party activists around the country have brought to light some very interesting tidbits about the NTPA.
First, it appears that the NTPA site has committed the ‘cardinal sin’ against the Tea Party by having once attacked former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The site is linked to the ‘Trig Truther’ website according to a few sources. But upon scouring the site, the link must have scrubbed clean, a clever move on their part.
Secondly, we found another post that was not-so-rosy sounding that referencedSarah Palin. NTPA linked and posted an excerpt from the very leftist publication The Week. Click here to read the Free Republic post
Is Sarah Palin “Undefeated”?
Former Alaska Governor, bestselling author, Fox News contributor and Tea Party darling Sarah Palin has long been rumored to be an unannounced candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. While her presumed opponents travel the country and cozy up to voters in Iowa and New Hampshire, it appears that Governor Palin has chosen a slightly different medium to make her announcement:
A documentary.
With the help of conservative filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon, Palin’s documentary, “The Undefeated” will premiere this coming June and is presumed to be the opening salvo for an expected 2012 race for the GOP nomination. As “The First Post” reports:
The misleadingly titled film – as a 2008 vice-presidential candidate, Palin lost to Obama – tells the story of her rise from “a young pregnant wife married to a blue-collar husband” to governor of Alaska – and it’s an epic two-hour damage-limitation exercise.
The film uses rare photos and footage to give a behind the scenes look at the controversial former governor, including footage from her announcement for Wasilla mayor, shot in her living room. The initial plan for the film is to premiere it in Iowa late next month before expanding the release to New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada. After the initial rollout in the four early voting states, Bannon will eventually release it to somewhere between 50 and 100 markets nationwide.

I’ve been involved with the TEA Party since its inception and this, my friends, is not the TEA Party; this is a group pretending to be affiliated with the TEA party in order to sell a product. Click here
So what gives here? Unfortunately, it appears that Ozzie deFaria is trying to co-opt the essence of the tea party by misrepresenting his candidacy as a Tea Party backed campaign by enabling phony sites like NTPA to message the grassroots and under the guise of a phony “tea party” organization for political expediency.
