For years, Democrats have been largely successful in courting Hispanics with a simple message. They say, “Democrats are for minorities and poor people, while Republicans are for the rich and the white. Hispanics are minorities and poor. Therefore, Hispanics are Democrats.”
But look around you. What have Democrats done for Hispanics, lately – besides taken them for granted? And as long as Hispanics continue to buy into that simple message, the Democrats will continue to take us for granted while they turn their attention on groups for whose votes they actually have to compete.
