An Arizona Democrat has been slapped with a slew of corruption charges, relating to his attempt to squeeze thousands of dollars of sports tickets out of undercover FBI agents posing as real estate developers. According to the Phoenix Business Journal:

Arizona Rep. Ben Arredondo, D-Tempe, has been indicted on bribery, fraud, extortion and other federal charges for allegedly improperly receiving $6,000 worth of sports tickets while serving on the Tempe City Council. The tickets were from undercover FBI agents who were posing as real estate developers. …

That includes $1,200 worth of tickets to the 2009 American League Championship Series between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; $2,400 worth of tickets to 18 Arizona Diamondbacks games; $300 worth of tickets to an Arizona Cardinals game and $1,200 worth of tickets to a Duke-Michigan State basketball game.

Arredondo has previously found himself in hot water for receiving tickets to the Fiesta Bowl game. His niece now holds a seat on the City Council.
