NEWTOWN, Conn --(Ammoland.com)- Seemingly unsatisfied with the pace of progress in Congress, President Obama has quietly pushed a number of items related to firearms through executive actions that don’t require Congressional action or approval.

Among the items are money toward NICS that comes a day late and a dollar short of what NSSF has advocated, and a million dollar ad campaign.

What he hasn’t done is fund NSSF’s successful program, Project ChildSafe, that received federal funding under the Bush Administration.

There were a few items that were advanced that will force taxpayer-funded money toward research and potentially advocacy of more stringent gun-control laws.

About NSSF:

The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 6,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers.
