BLM TARGETING PRIVATE PROPERTY, CREATING MAP FLAP OVER TEXAS, OKLAHOMA BOUNDARIES

Feds say land never belonged to Texas

While the battle between Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management has received much attention, a Texas case is ongoing in which the BLM is not only again seeking to confiscate long-held private property, but in doing so, could also redefine two states’ boundaries.

Byers, Texas, is in Clay County. It sits on the Red River at the Texas/Oklahoma border.

The BLM reportedly took 140 acres of the Tommy Henderson ranch thirty years ago. With the confiscation, Henderson was paid nothing and lost a subsequent court battle over the property.

Using this case as precedent, the BLM is now targeting other land despite ranchers having a deed and record of paying taxes for more than 100 years. Even more stunningly, the website Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children reports how the BLM claims “90,000 acres (116 miles along the Red River) have never belonged to Texas in the first place. They will seize the land and it will seriously change the boundaries between the two states.”
