Bill of Rights Day

Who knew?

Is today. Like every year, I tend to spend it mourning its demise.

How ironic.

The 2012 National Defense Authorization Act has passed Congress and is heading to Obama’s desk. He’s cool with it now, so he says he won’t veto it. The detainee provisions remain in place, and rights going back to the Magna Carta are shortly to be expunged by Act of Congress. How the hell did we get here?

Just as a thought exercise, consider how much we could pare from the DOD if we just quartered troops in homes.

Boom. Another one gone. It’s so easy.

I don’t know how it could have happened.

Hey, you all want to go to a Ron Paul site and call his supporters conspiracy theorists, kooks, and nuts? It will be a great time!! I’ll get to use the tin foil hat joke again and then at noon we can get together and listen to Hannity tell us how we should give up our rights in the name of the war on terror, and Bill O. on how the military should confiscate our guns during disasters like Katrina, it’ll be AWESOME!

I wonder why Rush isn’t covering the loss of the 5th, and 6th amendments to the constitution, as well as posse comitatus? He is a great guy anyway, always bashing the left for doing what G.W. Bush was already doing. I’m off, dancing with Donald Trump is coming on followed by survivor New Jersey and I cant miss it.

what were we talking about?

Farewell America, may you rest in peace.

A buddy from the UK just offered his condolences about the state of the US civil rights regarding the Defense Authorization Act. Not the best Bill of Rights anniversary ever, perhaps.

fyi – today the dept of holder went after the sheriff, who has a posse of retired law enforcement folks investigating obama’s alleged phony credentials, for civil right violations. the good sheriff was planning on making a statement of finding early next year.

now our clown in chief has the power to arrest and make people disappear, thanks to congress. there is also the continuing bill out there somewhere that will let him shut down the i-net.

i don’t much believe in coincidence. i do believe Americans are about to find out what Jefferson was talking about when ha said that bit about spilling the blood of patriots every so many generations to protect freedom. hope i’m wrong, but…

Okay, hypothetically, isn’t this the trigger point for armed revolt?
