Senator Nelson agrees with A-G challenge of Health Care Law
February 8, 2012 By Karla James
Nebraska will challenge the new federal Health Care Law requirement regarding contraception provided by church owned and related entities. Nebraska U-S Senator Ben Nelson is on board with Attorney General Jon Bruning’s decision to file a legal challenge.
Senator Nelson went on to say that this is one of the rare times where he and the Attorney General agree. He then went on to say, “this was a bone headed decision by H-H-S”. Senator Nelson is hosting a Congressional staff briefing today with members of the U-S Conference of Catholic Bishops and he is hoping to convince other senators to join their effort to get this requirement removed.
