Obama Bombshell: ‘Wizard of Oz was Major Political Influence’

WASHINGTON – In an exclusive interview on The View yesterday, President Barack Obama revealed that the Wizard of Oz’s teachings were a significant influence on his political thinking and that he has largely modeled his administration’s agenda on them.

Mr. Obama said he got the idea of affordable health care from the Wizard.

“Look, when the Tin Man needed a new heart,” the President explained, “the Wizard didn’t ask him if he had health insurance and didn’t care if his heart problem was a pre-existing condition. He just reached into his bag and pulled one out at no cost.”

Mr. Obama said his education policies also derive from the Wizard’s philosophy. “When the Scarecrow needed a college diploma so he could get his fair share of the American dream,” the President explained, “the Wizard didn’t ask the Scarecrow if he could afford one. He just reached into his bag and pulled one out at no cost.”

Elizabeth Hasselbeck drew loud, sustained boos when she asked the President “who was paying for these things” the wizard was giving away?

The President silenced the crowd. “Look, you can call this class warfare all you want, Elizabeth,” Obama glowered at her. “Most people would call it the rich paying their fair share.” The audience leapt to its feet and gave the President a prolonged standing ovation.

The President said he was ”strongly influenced” by the fact that the Wizard reigned from behind a large curtain, with no transparency or accountability, and that he spoke through a terrifying, smoke-billowing machine (Hillary Clinton fills the role of the machine, Obama said). He also thinks it was “cool” that the residents of Emerald City believed the Wizard had more powers and skills than he actually possessed.

Mr. Obama noted that the Wizard took credit for killing the Wicked Witch of the West, even though he was sitting in Emerald City when four brave soldiers risked their lives to dispose of her. “That became the model for how the White House took credit for Osama bin Laden’s killing,” the President beamed.

In addition, Mr. Obama detailed how the Obama administration’s defense policy is modeled on the Wizard’s appointment of a self-avowed coward, the Lion, to oversee the nation’s security.

Even the President’s reelection campaign was based on the Wizard’s example of abandoning his duties to personally take Dorothy back to Kansas in a balloon. “We learned that you need to drop everything to curry favor with single, unemployed females,” Mr. Obama said.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck reminded the President that the Wizard’s balloon accidentally left without Dorothy.

“That was because of the failed policies of the previous wizard,” Obama said.
