Action 4 News went to the Brownsville bus station, and in the Greyhound ticket booth long lines of immigrants buying bus tickets were seen.
An employee told Action 4 News they are selling 50 to 60 tickets more per day than they normally would.
We contacted the Greyhound offices to learn what the numbers looked like last year.
While they can't disclose the information, a spokesperson said there has been an increase of bus ticket sales in the Rio Grande Valley mainly to San Antonio, Dallas and H0ouston.
The spokesperson could not confirm the reason behind the spike since sales are always high during this time of year.

“We are working diligently to transport these individuals safely to their destination without interrupting our usual operations. S0o far, we have seen no interruption of our regular operation,”
Greyhound lines spokesperson Alexandra Pedrini said. “We will supply additional resources if needed."

Additional resources include providing more buses and drivers to specific stations.
Pedrini also said they don't have an agreement with Border Patrol or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to transport the immigrants.
