A man is behind bars after he allegedly raped a teenager while the victim’s family was in the room asleep.
San Benito police arrested Felix Cosino-Correa after he allegedly broke into the victim’s home, and went to the teenager’s bedroom.
The victim then woke up after she felt Cosino-Correa touch her inappropriately.
While the 38 year old was allegedly sexually assaulting the victim, she attempted to wake up her sister in the room by pinching her multiple times.
According to police, the victim’s sibling witnessed the sexual assault but pretended to be asleep in fear of Cosino-Correa assaulting her.
Police said the 38 year old left the victim’s home after the incident in a light blue jeep.
San Benito police said Cosino-Correa did have access to the victim while working on construction for her home.
The victim made an outcry to a family member, who then reported the assault to police Aug. 28th.
Authorities issued two felony warrants for aggravated sexual assault of a child and burglary of a habitation commits sex offense.
Almost a month after the victim made an outcry; police arrested Cosino-Correa at his home on the 100 block of Cornejo Drive.
Judge Benjamin Yudesis set his bond at $100,000.
AN ICE detainer was placed on Cosino-Correa, and he was transported to the Cameron County Detention Center.
