"You will not impose your Sharia law in our democracies. We will not let your stupidity kill our liberties and our freedom of expression."
The hacktivist group known as Anonymous has officially declared war on Al-Qaeda and ISIS.
A new video by the hackers' Belgian branch is calling to avenge the killings at satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, with the new operation being called #OpCharlieHebdo. (Watch the video here with English translation.)
"We will track you down - every last one - and will kill you,” says an individual wearing a Guy Fawkes in French. "You allowed yourselves to kill innocent people, we will therefore avenge their deaths."
The group continues by telling the jihadists that all hacktivists from across the globe will stop at nothing to defend freedom of speech. The group vows to destroy them no matter where they are.
"You will not impose your Sharia law in our democracies. We will not let your stupidity kill our liberties and our freedom of expression. We have warned you; expect your destruction," the spokesperson says.
"We will track you everywhere on the planet; nowhere will you be safe. We are Anonymous. We are legion. We do not forget. We do not forgive. Be afraid of us, Islamic State and Al Qaeda - you will get our vengeance," the spokesperson said to conclude the video.
A statement posted to website Pastebin echoed the video and told the terrorist groups to “expect a massive frontal reaction.”
"Freedom of speech and opinion is a non-negotiable thing - to tackle it is to attack democracy. Expect a massive frontal reaction from us because the struggle for the defense of those freedoms is the foundation of our movement," the statement reads.
Here is the entire statement posted to Pastebin.
