Gaza Rockets Still Launched Despite Ceasefire Reports

Gaza rockets continued to fall on Israel on Monday, despite reports on Sunday of a ceasefire. At least six more rockets had been fired at Israel as of Monday morning, according to the IDF Spokesperson’s Twitter feed. The launchings come following an article in The Jerusalem Post saying that a ceasefire was reportedly supposed to go into effect Sunday night. The Mideast Update could not independently confirm the report. The Jerusalem Post said spokesmen for the Popular Resistance Committees told reporters they did not officially agree to the ceasefire.

In the past, escalations in the Israel-Gaza conflict have also slowed down in stages before actual calm prevails.

Be sure to watch The Mideast Update for additional news on the conflict.
