A 16-year-old hired to some yard work is accused of brutally assaulting a woman inside her University City home for several hours.
On December 23, 2013, Markeon Jones, now 17, went door-to-door offering to shovel snow and rake leaves in a north central neighborhood of University City when a homeowner hired him.
The homeowner left a short time later and police say that’s when Jones forced himself into the home and sexually assaulted the 28-year-old female victim inside.
According to the charging documents, Jones forcibly raped and abused her for several hours before fleeing the home and the victim called police.
Jones was caught several blocks away. He was also accused of stealing money and an iPhone from the home.
He was 16-years-old at the time and the St. Louis County Family Court certified him to stand trial as an adult after police said the nature of the attack was “so heinous.”
Jones was charged with five counts of forcible sodomy, three counts of forcible rape, one count of first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, and second-degree robbery.
He is being held at the St. Louis County Jail.
