Sexual assault suspect accused of stalking, following girl to school

A man is behind bars after police placed a lookout on him, which lead to him being charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Efrain Sanchez Lerma, was arrested after the child victim of the crime told authorities he was stalking her, according to the Brownsville Police Department.
An outcry was also made that the 33-year-old had assaulted the child who is under 16-years-old.
Allegations were raised that Lerma would follow the girl to her house and to school.
A warrant for Lerma’s arrest was issued, and he was arrested on the 1100 block of East Levee Street in Brownsville.
Action 4 News does not identify victims of sexual abuse, but records show Lerma is an acquaintance of the child victim.
The Brownsville Police Department is still investigating the case, and a bond is still pending at this time.
