ASHEVILLE — Nearly 100 people gathered at downtown Asheville’s Pritchard Park on Tuesday, April 22, to celebrate Earth Day during the second annual vigil held by Western North Carolina Green Congregations.
A network of faith communities, the organization organized “Hope Rises,” an interfaith vigil to celebrate “God’s creation and, in response to our changing climate, (to call) on people of faith to care for it,” according to information from the group.
