A Southmost man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly sicced his dogs on a Border Patrol agent trying to catch a group of illegal immigrants.
Brownsville police arrested 22-year-old Luis Enrique Garcia on an aggravated assault of a public servant charge on Friday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that a Border Patrol agent was chasing several illegal immigrants through an empty lot on Calle Milpa Verde in the Southmost area of the city.
Garcia allegedly saw the Border Patrol agent and ordered his four medium-sized dogs to chase the agent.
The agent told Garcia to call of his dogs but Garcia allegedly ran inside his house.
Investigators said the agent was not harmed but reported the incident to Brownsville police.
Police took Garcia into custody while Brownsville Animal Control officers were called for the dogs.
Garcia was released from custody after posting a $25,000 dollar bond.
