An Alamo mother is out on bond after her 3-month-old baby was found with a fractured skull, injured ribs and severe diaper rash.
Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 20-year-old Christi Garza on an injury to a child charge back on August 22nd.
Court records released to Action 4 News show that Garza’s 3-month-old daughter was admitted to the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen back in October 2012.
Doctors reported that the baby girl suffered a skull fracture but also had nine old and healing rib fractures as well as a severe case of diaper rash.
Records show that Garza did not change the girl’s soiled diapers causing a severe rash.
According to the records, the alleged acts of abuse happened at the family’s home off South Whalen Road just outside Alamo.
A criminal investigation ended with deputies obtaining an arrest warrant for Garza back on August 21st.
Garza was released from the Hidalgo County Jail after posting a $20,000 dollar bond.
