White House works with Twitter on State of the Union selfie project

1/21/2015

*In somber times the elitist regime reenforces the persona of an out of touch adminstration. Likely explaining why an actual "State of the Union" goes unspoken. In favor of the Marxist dream for America's future.

Washington (CNN)The selfies of tonight's State of the Union are strong.
The famed Twitter Mirror, a mainstay at Hollywood awards show red carpets, made a surprise last-minute appearance at the White House this evening. First Lady Michelle Obama and some of her guests for the State of the Union address are expected to pose and share selfies from the mirror of their behind-the-scenes preparation for tonight's big speech.
The first Twitter-produced selfie featured Anthony Mendez, who overcame homelessness to go to college, and Malik Bryant, a 13 year-old from Chicago. Both will be White House guests to the State of the Union address. Their picture was tweeted out by Michelle Obama's @FLOTUS account with a Twitter watermark.
Sources close to the project also indicate that Dr. Jill Biden and First Lady Michelle Obama are expected to post a selfie with the mirror of their own behind-the-scenes preparations. Later Tuesday, both Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden are expected to join their husbands and guests in the balcony of the House chamber.
Other White House guests at the annual speech to Congress are expected to include Alan Gross, who was recently freed from imprisonment in Cuba. In addition, according to a White House press release, there will be eight people who have written letters to President Obama, some of whom he's met with during trips around the country over the past year.
The Mirror, which is more commonly used at award shows like The Oscars and The Grammys, is making its first ever appearance at The White House for White House staff and guests, and signals an effort by White House officials to double down on their millennial outreach.
Twitter is not the only tech company the White House has paired with as part of its State of the Union outreach. Just last week, the President announced plans to wrap up his speech by sitting down with viral Youtube stars Bethany Mota, GloZell Green, and Hank Green. This combined with Twitter Mirror selfies indicates their effort to move beyond the beltway and appeal to a younger demographic.
