There are two simultaneous protests taking place in Washington right now, Occupy DC and October2011. Here’s liberal radio host Mike Malloy speaking to the October2011 crowd.
Malloy starts by comparing the invasion of Afghanistan by the “Bush crime family” to Nazi war crimes. He then adds that the Nuremberg trials resulted in hanging for senior leaders found guilty. At this point someone in the crowd yells “Let’s do it again!” and Malloy responds “Yeah!” Several more people in the crowd join in apparent agreement:
Malloy’s full remarks are here. Some of this is NSFW.
Addendum: ABC wrote up the “booing” of a soldier at the last GOP debate:
First it was Gov. Rick Perry and the death penalty. Then it was Rep. Ron Paul and health insurance. Now it is former Sen. Rick Santorum and openly gay and lesbian troops serving in the military. But instead of cheers, it is a loud boo drawing attention.
ABC wasn’t alone. The Washington Post went hog wild with this story. Here’s Greg Sargent noting it. Admittedly Sargent runs a liberal blog, but here’s Sarah Hughes at the Post. And here’s another article from the Post. And here’s Alexander Petri at the Post, she included the video. Oh, and Jonathan Capehart too. But why stop now, here’s Susan Thistlewaite on the same story. In all, the Post mentioned this at least a dozen times.
How about MSNBC, did they cover it? Yup. And on and on it went for several days of reaction stories. The President himself got into the act, condemning this. (He’s not the speech police except when he is.)
Will ABC, the Post, MSNBC or any of the others mention Malloy’s comments and the audience response to them the next time they report on October2011? If not I’d love to hear their excuse for ignoring it.
