Republican Presidential candidate Rick Santorum made a quick stop in Palm Beach to talk to Republican activists at a picnic hosted by the Palm Beach County Republican Party. Santorum stressed the importance of adhering to conservative principles and not forgetting the important social issues-issues have taken a back seat to the economic and national security issues in the GOP Presidential primary race. Considered my many Republicans to be the ‘dark horse’ in the field of Republican candidates, Santorum has been gaining support among conservatives that have lost interest in both Herman Cain and Rick Perry and are looking for alternatives.
While serving in the U.S. Senate, Santorum was considered a ‘hawk’ on the threat of Islamic Fundamentalism and was one of the strongest supporters of our staunchest ally in the Middle East, Israel. Santorum’s support of a pre-emptive strike on Iran by Israel echoes that of Congressman Allen West. Santorum reiterated that Iran has sworn to defeat both ‘The Great Satan’ (U.S.) and the ‘Little Satan’ (Israel), as well as threatened to wipe Israel of the map.
If we are in a position where Iran is close to getting a nuclear weapon, then action needs to be taken. It simply can’t be ignored
I would be working with Israel in making sure…I would have been working a lot harder, and a lot more vigilantly to replace the government in Iran, and doing things to disrupt the process of getting this nuclear weapon produced.
