Under Obama's Watch, Iran Closes in on Nukes

An existential crisis that will plague us, our children and grandchildren is unfolding, and the president sworn to defend us doing his usual ineffectual foreign policy dance around it.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, no war drum beater itself, is about to reveal that Iran is on the cusp of possessing nuclear weapons, having mastered the critical steps necessary to make The Bomb.

Diplomacy has only made Iran’s leaders’ mouths sore from alternate bouts of yawning and laughing.

But President Obama has no stomach for the serious and sustained type of military measures that are needed to defeat this threat, or at least delay it by many years in the hope that the Mullahmaniacs will eventually be deposed and the nuclear effort abandoned.

Nor does he have the political will, knowing that a U.S. strike would outrage his already disgruntled base and upset his allies currently occupying Wall Street.

Instead, he will lead from behind and leave it to the Israelis, who will not do the type of job we could on the Iranian program.

Speaking from his perch in La La Land, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said today’s news somehow demonstrates the success of Obama’s policies.

“We are very focused on diplomacy,” he declared, which is like getting a report from the fire chief that he has asked the fire to stop burning and will continue to do so.

“That apporach has had an affect,” Carney continued, saying that Iran now felt “pressured and isolated.”

But Iran’s dictators know that once they have their nukes, every nation in the region will be cuddling up and begging for favor and forgiveness.

A world in where maniacal state terrorists possess nuclear weapons is not an acceptable world. Any and every means must be taken to stop it. But unless this is some kind of grand deception – if only! – we are set to give Iran a good, solid finger wagging. That’ll show ‘em.
