CASSVILLE, Ga. — Celestino Moras reportedly grew agitated after learning he was not an invited guest at an annual church picnic and rodeo over Memorial Day weekend. Rather than leave peacefully, a drunk Moras allegedly pulled out a pistol and began shooting, scattering a crowd of 300 people and wounding three.
Fortunately the victims did not suffer life-threatening injuries, and unfortunately for Moras, he ran out of bullets. The property owner told WSB-TV in Atlanta that when the gunfire stopped, one of the rodeo cowboys lassoed him.
Afterwards he was tied up and beaten by some of the guests until police arrived, Moras was treated for facial injuries before being booked into jail. He’s been formally charged with aggravated assault.
Police were also searching for a second suspect on Sunday night according to WSB, but only Moras has been arrested and charged so far. All three shooting victims have been released from hospitals.
