A truck filled with undocumented immigrants crashed into a church in Alamo after they attempted to flee from Border Patrol agents.
The crash happened when the vehicle rammed into the Church at Bethany on the 1500 block of south Alamo Road around 9 p.m. Saturday.
Border Patrol told Action 4 News that agents saw people going into a Tan Ford extended cab F250 near the intersection of FM 907 and U.S. Highway 281.
The truck took off north on FM 907 a short time later.
Agents attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop and continued driving.
The driver then went off the road, through a fence and slammed a fence of homes on the property of Church at Bethany in Alamo.
The immigrants tried to flee the scene, but agents were able to take 23 people into custody.
Border Patrol said the driver of the truck escaped.
One of the immigrants suffered rib and back injuries.
EMS rushed the immigrant to the McAllen Medical Center.
AIROPS were called to the scene and assisted in the search for the driver and area for others involved in the incident.
The crash caused damage to the structure of the building.
