DALLAS (AP) -- Federal authorities say a Salvadoran woman has been deported after they found her in Texas and determined she was a member of a violent gang who was wanted for murder.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said in a statement Friday that 25-year-old Margarita Del Carmen Orellana Rivas was returned this week to El Salvador.
She was being sought there on charges that include aggravated murder and conspiracy in the crime of aggravated murder. U.S. authorities say she's a member of the MS-13 street gang.
Officials say Orellana Rivas was wanted for her involvement in three killings. They allege that in each case she lured the victims to isolated locations where gang members killed them.
Orellana Rivas was apprehended shortly after entering Texas in August near Hidalgo.
