A gruesome suicide occurred Wednesday in the middle of a West Dallas intersection where a man decapitated himself in front of many horrified motorists.
The unidentified victim of his own beheading tied one end of a rope around a nearby fire hydrant and the opposite end around his neck. Next, he hopped in his white van and intentionally pressed the gas pedal to the ground, speeding away with his head intentionally ripped off in the process, according to local news source CBS DFW.
This incident is frighteningly similar to what another man did in New York in September of this year; however, one addition to the sickening scene separates the two suicides. The Dallas man had scrolled a large message on the broad side of his van, giving clues into what may have contributed to his suicide.
Written in black spray paint, the man tagged his van with words that appear to say “No Code” and a second part that reads “Codbo,” which some are claiming is a reference to the Call of Duty: Black Ops video game, according to the Daily Mail.
The messages on the van have not been completely confirmed as to their meaning, and authorities have yet to release what this man’s motive was.
According to witnesses subject to this terrifying scene, the man was ejected from his vehicle upon pressing the throttle and was later seen strewn about the side of the road by stunned drivers. The van continued on after he was tossed out, but eventually came to a stop without harming any other cars or pedestrians, thankfully.
Despite the assumptions that the driver’s intent of writing “Codbo” on the side of his car as an acronym for the popular first-person shooter game Call Of Duty: Black Ops, it could very well be a different word in another language and have different meaning all together. The fact is that the game could not be solely responsible for driving this man to suicide, since other mental/emotional conditions would need to be in place for someone to go to this length to end their life.
