God, civil disobedience and revolution

The news this week was more than bleak. The economy remains in a tailspin and is getting worse; the Middle East remains highly unstable, creating the prospect of a meltdown if oil fields are taken over or destroyed by hostile interests; Germany, our strongest ally in Western Europe, has decided to end nuclear power as an overreaction to the Japan disaster, setting off an eventual energy shortage worldwide; and our nation is governed at the top by a president who not only has no clue how to rule, but who at heart sympathizes with radical Muslims who hate Jews and Christians – which, at least at present, remain the mainstay of our population and cultural base.

There is a sinking unsettling feeling in the air. Any moment I have the impression that the proverbial shoe could drop; one major catastrophic event could create a worldwide economic, social and political collapse. We are hanging by a thread, and the clock is ticking at the midnight hour.

Great American leaders who can rally the people in trying to avoid catastrophe have existed before, but they do not exist now. Mitt Romney, for the moment the leading Republican candidate to win his party's nomination for president in 2012, has no real moral or political compass, and others, with the exception of Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin (who will face many unfair obstacles in the leftist-controlled media), lack the toughness and conviction to be president. Regrettably, even with all the bad news, absent a knockout legal punch, which I have been working on, our "mullah in chief" president, Barack Hussein Obama, is likely to be re-elected by "default" – notwithstanding the damage he will undoubtedly continue to do in the year and a half leading up to the next national election in 2012.

Now is the time to turn to God for guidance, as if this were not always the case. We the People are in his hands. And while I do believe that God helps those who help themselves, it's time that we show humility and pray. It's also time that we act in His name.

Get Larry Klayman's fascinating account of his battle with the powers that be: "Whores: Why and How I Came to Fight the Establishment"

Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Lech Walesa, Nelson Mandela and other "civilian activists" – of all political persuasions – changed history by resorting not to violence against the ruling elite, but by using civil disobedience. That is what we now need to do collectively as the American people to regain control of our nation.

There is much talk these days about the budget crisis and what it means for ourselves and, most chillingly, our children and grandchildren. In the next few years alone, the overwhelming majority of our budget will go just to paying the interest on the country's huge debt, leaving very little for anything else. While establishment Republicans, who remain in control of their party by and large, claim that they are trying to rein in the debt, they have shown little desire to allow the current debt ceiling to remain intact. And, President Obama and his fellow Democrats largely refuse to make any real and meaningful spending cuts. In short, we are more than bankrupt; we are watching the nation fall into irreparable economic, social and political depression even if the Middle East and its oil fields do not literally blow up – sending world prices through the roof.

There are ways to get the ruling elite's "attention" to try to mend their ways. Work stopages, large-scale nationwide protests, collectively in mass refusing to obey government edits and mandates and the like could be used. We need to decide how best to accomplish our peaceful second American revolution and bring the ruling establishment elite to its knees.

In the regard, I would like to solicit your ideas and views and then in subsequent columns publish the results of this hard thought. If you feel as I do, and believe that we are facing disaster unless we act now, please write to me at leklayman@yahoo.com with your suggestions and ideas. There truly is no time to lose.

For if we think that a political "messiah" is on the way in time for the next elections, think again. There is only one messiah, and his name is not Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum, or Newt Gingrich – by any account "little" people by any stretch of the imagination. And, time is so short that we must draw up a list of demands of our government, present it to our current so-called political leaders and, if they do not heed the immediate call, act immediately on our own. That's what our Founding Fathers did, and when their grievances were again ignored and not heard, the rest became history – and a great nation was born. Now we must be "born again!"

These Founding Fathers did not sit around and wait for King George III to straighten himself out, and we cannot wait to put both leftist Democrats and establishment Republicans on the so-called "right track."

With the grace and guidance of the Almighty, and our own creative and committed spirit and strong peaceful actions, we can bring the nation out of its free fall; but we no longer have any time left if we are to be successful.

I look forward to hearing from you with your prayers and thoughts.

God bless the United States, and God bless its great people. Let us all roll up our sleeves and get to work before it is too late. Let us ignite the second American revolution with words and, more importantly, with strong deeds!
