When the players take the field for the Super Bowl on February 2, they can thank a Chesterfield company for the turf under their cleats even though Ambassador Floor Company has yet to be paid for their work.
The NFL will not allow Ambassador to advertise the fact that they install turf for stadiums including the turf at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey.
The company was left on the hook for an $300,000 unpaid bill. The average ticket to the Super Bowl goes for $2,600 with luxury suites commanding close to $1 million.
Ambassador Floor Company, along Chesterfield Airport Road, is now suing the stadium management and the Georgia Turf Company that hired them to put the new field down this past June.
Not only that, they say they were told to do it fast, working a 16-man crew around the clock just so Met Life stadium could be ready for football this past season.
"It has left a bad taste in our mouth, to say the least, we want to get paid we know there is a lot of money there it's out there somebody's got it, it just didn't come back to us we did a great job and we deserve to be paid, it's frustrating,” said Kelly Taylor with Ambassador Floor Co.
News 4 attempted to contact both management at Met Life Stadium and the Georgia Turf Company that hired them but never received an answer.
Taylor said he’s proud of how the field looks but he won’t be watching the game.
