A sting against selling alcohol to minors ended with employees at four popular restaurants behind bars and facing criminal charges.
Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) agents headed up an under sting on Thursday.
TABC agents sent an undercover minor into 18 restaurants in Hidalgo County.
Invsetigators reported that the operation ended with the arrests of four restaurant employees who sold beer to the undercover minor.
TABC agents arrested 34-year-old Angel Murillo, Jr. at Joe's Crab Shack in McAllen.
Investigators also arrested 20-year-old Jaime Alberto Gomez at Don Pepe's restaurant just across town.
Agents arrested 19-year-old Dayra Cassandra Garza at the Logan's Roadhouse in south McAllen.
TABC agents also arrested 29-year-old Jonathan Paul Muñoz at BJ's Brewhouse right off Expressway 83.
Investigators charged all four suspects with selling alcohol to a minor.
All four suspects were booked in the Hidalgo County Jail where they were released after posting bond.
Under Texas state law, selling alcohol to a minor is a Class A misdemeanor punishable up to one year in prison and/or a $4,000 fine.
