Affidavit: Mom leaves son home alone to go drink with boyfriend
A mom was arrested on a charge of abandoning and endangering a child younger than 15-years-old.
According to a criminal complaint, Aracely Alaniz left her child alone while she went to drink with her boyfriend.
The incident happened on June 27th during the early morning.
The criminal complaint said the child was left in circumstances that “expose the child to an unreasonable risk of harm.”
Pharr Police Department responded to the call after the child asked to borrow a witness’ phone.
The child attempted to call his mom twice, according to the affidavit.
Authorities were called to the scene, and the mom arrived around 7:00 a.m. after leaving the house around 3:00 in the morning.
When asked if she left the child alone, she said yes, according to court documents.
Alaniz was arrested and transported to the Hidalgo County Jail.
